Is this a 1:1 trade or not?

I would say not. Backyard or Backyard+ for BA Abraxas would be more in line, IMHO.

Reg Abraxas for Backyard 1:1 is about right.

Both shelf beers, but one stayed on the shelves longer (a lot longer) than a day. Regular Abraxas was too available to go 1:1 with Backyard, and it's made every year. I would save the Backyard for something else, or drink it.

This. Abraxas was released in (I think) November, yet it was still available on the shelves at a reasonable price ($21) late last month.

That said, I guess I'm off about BA Abraxas. I didn't realize it was pulling that much, though I did say Backyard+, so it might just be a matter of what the + might be.

Hahaha...+ is a King Henry or Prop+ :grinning:. Abraxas came to a bar outside of Philly...$40/bottle and they only got 6. Backyard was available everywhere, though was somewhat difficult to track one down. "Shelf" is relative so I generally go with $4$ with some considerations for relative ease of acquiring. I don't really want to trade my Backyard now though, but would love to get some more Abraxas. I liked it better than Backyard :grimacing:

Yikes – highway robbery. :grimacing: Anyway, when I say "available on the shelf" I mean exactly that: you can walk into a regular liquor or grocery store and buy it. That seems pretty clear-cut to me, not at all relative.

BTW, isn't BA Abraxas due to be released again in a couple of months?

I traded a Backyard to get an Abraxas. 1) Backyard was easier for me to get by a large margin, and 2) I enjoy Abraxas more than I did Backyard. 1:1 was perfect for me.
