Bad Trader Alert: lukasz

    Well, it looks like I got screwed yet again. Here is the story...

    @lukasz and I agreed to a trade on 10/12/14. The agreement was that I would send 8x BCBS ('12) for 2x FW Agrestic + 2x FW Feral Vinifera. I suggested that I might add a BBPT5 + reg. Plead The Fifth if he'd throw in a w00t 2.0, which he did agree to. In the end, I just sent a 12 bottle shipper with the bottles mentioned and a couple extras. I asked if it would be cool for me to ship first and then he could ship back in the same box (hey, I like my shipper boxes). This was the end agreement. He received his beer on 10/20/14 and I messaged to see if everything landed okay. This is the message I received from him on 10/21/14:

    "Hey man sorry for the late reply, had to go out of town for some training, yeah everything arrived safely and I'll get your box out of here in a day or two tops, can you please also send me your address, I threw out the slip by accident, thanks"

    I sent my address info immediately. He had my address info on 10/21/14 and said he'd ship within two days. That never happened. I've since tried to get in touch with no luck. I've sent several BMs but he hasn't been on the site since 10/22 (presumably not set up to receive emails when messages are received?). I even tried texting the phone number he provided, but no response.

    So in short, I am out of a relatively large quantity of one of my favorite beers and frankly, I am a little aggravated that this shit is happening as much as it is these days! Calling this guy out publicly on the forums in hopes that others will not get shafted like I did.

    @lukasz, care to share your side of story here.....

    Also, maybe @Corey1031d can shed some light here, he left feedback on 10/23 indicating that his trade with lukasz was not completed by mutual agreement.

    Damn Ken, sorry to hear this happened to you. The craziest/most disturbing part to me is that a lot of the bad traders lately have multiple trades with good feedback. Even with the new feedback system its like there is no way to be sure

    It seems 90% of these bad trader threads are caused by lack of communication. I know stuff happens that we all don't always hit our "ship date", but that's where a simple text, BM,etc to let the other person know what's going on. It just seems disrespectful to not at least take a minute to communicate (nobody's that busy). Its a shame people are like that. I hope he comes through and makes it right. I guess I'm " old school" and have the philosophy of a verbal agreement or hand shake is a man's word. With that said, did you guys have a trade request accepted? I'm not sure there's a way to view it, cause if there is I don't know how. Sorry to hear about this, as it seems from your feedback that you are a solid BA!!

    You got that right! Unfortunately "old school" seems to be a very appropriate term with regards to your philosophy. It still disgusts me how many people disagree with what you said.

    The trader feedback system is a great system and needs to be used but it sucks that it's come to this. Maybe it's just me but I feel like there are more and more bad trader threads popping up than ever before. Sure, maybe as BA has grown and become more popular so have the bad traders. In other words, maybe the percentage to users is the same as it was 5 years ago but its sickening regardless. F'in lying, cheating, thieves who don't even give a sh!t about anyone but themselves. End rant.

    Sorry to hear this @brother_kenneth. It sucks when it happens to anyone but pisses me off more when it happens to someone who gives so much back to the community.

    Thought that handle sounded familiar. @lukasz was one of my early trades back in June, and I had no issues whatsoever. Life happens and situations change, but you've gotta make good on your obligations, or at the very least communicate your intentions. I've been fortunate up to now, but I'm sure my time is coming. I'm beginning to value the stability of regular trading partners. Hope you get this resolved @brother_kenneth

    Well i assume you used the trade system, IMO he needs bad feedback. Now i don't think you could get the exact beers you lost but i would offer up some replacements, as would others it sounds like. BM me if you would like to discuss.

    Nothing. No updates at all. I'll be leaving bad feedback I guess in the next day or two. Was hoping someone who knew the guy might be able to get in touch or something, but no one seems to know him. Fucking bummed out I lost all that BCBS!

    Sorry you got burned, but you did offer to ship first to a relatively new user with very little activity on the site.

    I'll investigate a bit more, but given the fact that he hasn't logged in for a month it will most likely result in a ban.

    It appears that this user is probably a duplicate account for another user, who's using multiple IP proxies in an attempt to hide. Unfortunately for him our system does a great job at connecting the dots, making IP proxies pretty much worthless.

    In the meantime, he's been banned. If this is a mistake, he can email us to regain access.

    Since the "bad trader" has been banned this issue is considered closed, locking up but leaving for reference.
