Bad trader alert- Schmoopsbeer

Hey all,

So its about time I let you guys know about schmoopsbeer. Sorry for the long story but it spans the past year and a couple months. We traded and became regular trading partners, then started just sending boxes so there wasn't any concrete this for that dealings anymore.

After that happened, I sent him a box with some good stuff and then left to Miami for the summer(I'm in college in Atlanta) so I told him to hold off on sending anything since if he sent it to Atlanta no one would be there and to Miami I'd have to send it to Atlanta when I went back. While I was in Miami I sent him another huge box of FL stuff which broke in transit and then I replaced everything in it and resent it. I then got back to Atlanta and got really busy with school so I told him I didn't have time to drink. My cellar was already pretty much full and he said he had been getting a lot to send me so I asked him to just send the stuff that had to be drank fresh if he had already bought it and didn't wanna drink it.

I still offered to send him stuff from the East coast if there was anything he wanted though and he was gonna do a Founders tasting so I sent him a huge Founder's box and basically supplied his tasting. He asked once or twice if he could send but I still told him to wait until January if he could and he said that was fine.

He was also my mule/proxy/trustee for the Eclipse beers I bought so he picked those up for me in December. January rolled around and I gave him the green light to send everything he had wanted to send and had been telling me he was getting for me. He explained to me that he'd been traveling like crazy for his job and was barely ever home anymore but would get his gf to pack and send me a box or two. He said she sent it but never gave him the tracking number and therefore I never got one and after a month of no boxes arriving I asked him what was going on and he said he figured out it had broken in transit and he would replace my Eclipse beers and reship when he got a chance. I told him thanks for being so generous but that I knew that was a risk and he didn't have to but to send me w/e he had been planning on sending for all the beer I had already sent him. A box arrived like 2 weeks later with what he said were the replacement eclipse beers and some other stuff. One of the eclipse beers broke and another one was just missing so I informed him of that and he said he'd take care of it. Then I left for the summer again and informed him if he was gonna send anything to hold off until I came back.

During this whole time I never suspected anything was off because we talked pretty regularly about more than just beer stuff and he'd randomly ask if I was interested in x or y beer and if I was he'd say he's got me one.

After I came back in August though he never responded to my text about sending the boxes he owed me. I chalked it up to him being busy with work and tried again like 2 weeks later and he responded who is this is it Chris? Sorry I got a new phone yadda yadda. He then asked me if I was still holding the Deviation for him, which I was and had agreed to trade it to him for another beer of his. He tried setting up a trade in which he sent me a box full of stuff and in it the agreed upon bottle for my Deviation and I sent him the Deviation. I told him that given the hundreds of dollars of beer I've sent his way and the measly box I have to show for it after a year that I wasn't interested in trading the Deviation until after he sent what he owed me.

He never responded and stopped responding to my texts until today that I told him he had left me no choice but to put him on the bad trader list. He said yes he plans on sending me a box but can't right now because he'd gotten laid off and has more important things to pay for right now.

I do think that he plans on sending me beer eventually based on my dealings with him before this whole thing which went smooth and I never pegged him for a scumbag although I know what many of you have said about your dealings with him.

I just thought I'd let the community know that this guy owes me a lot of beer and consider him a bad trader until he makes good on it, which I'll update on if and when he does. I'm not a stalker and I'm barely ever on here any more and hadn't logged on in months so for all I know he could be full of shit and setting up new trades and what not so I'm warning you guys to steer clear of him.

I know people sometimes make new usernames and what not so if you think you might be dealing with this guy let me know at my email [email protected] if you want to confirm since like I said, we talked pretty often and I have a lot of his personal info. He's from Cali, can I get any more specific than that without getting the thread deleted? Also from everything I talked with him I'm confident that he's one of those pathological liars that loses track of his lies and if you pay attention you'll notice it. One of my best friends is like that too and he's a really nice guy aside from that and we get along just fine so I thought schmoopsbeer was just another one of those cases.

Also if I remember this correctly from my BMs with levitation some months ago he thinks schmoopsbeer is using the BA handle popinbottles or something along those lines and I think he's pilot1331 on RB

Again sorry for the long ass story but this all happened over a very long period of time.

For the TL;DR people: I've sent schmoopsbeer hundreds of dollars of beer and have beer I paid for him to trustee/mule/proxy for me and a couple other bottles to show for it. Don't trade with him until he makes good on this.

 

That's what the TL;DR is for. I just didn't wanna be vague and then people start asking and you let out info little by little.

 

Yea, he also replied to my text finally but given the circumstances I just thought I'd let everyone know even though he has let me know what's going on because I still don't have much to show for all I've sent him and its been way too long.

 

Yea I know that but my experience was always good with him till I told him not to send anything for like 8 months but kept sending him stuff he asked and then when I gave him the green light to start sending again, thats when my experience turned sour.

 

I find you're comment laughable since you didn't exactly rack up the best reputation with your beatification pre-trades either. From what I know, you're reputation is where his was at before my thread. Meaning no one has called you a bad trader yet but I know a few people that have you on their do not trade with list.

 

Yea, I can confirm he's pilot1331 on RB now, just from looking at the trade feedback over there. He traded forward the Nielsbohriums I sent him and sent someone else the funky buddha snifter he asked me for. Two coincidences too big for it not to be him. Funny thing is he even sent me a PM pimping himself out telling me to contact schmoopsbeer on BA when I posted a FT deviation over there. Yea, I remember you telling me that about the deadpool, good luck figuring that out.

 

How is calling someone out for being a hypocrite a bit much?

 

He is a questionable trader when he's on people's don't trade with lists. If by dropped out of pretrades you mean flat out saying I'm not honoring the deal because these beers are pulling more on the forum than what we agreed upon so you have to give me more if you still want this trade to happen...then yes he dropped out of pretrades. My point was still valid because he does have the same exact markings that schmoopsbeer had before this thread.

There's a huge difference between not being able to come through on a pretrade for w/e reason and just being a deuche/scumbag/whatever you wanna call it which in turn makes you a questionable trader in a lot of people's eyes who would rather not deal with that type of people.

 

Its not bullshit and it didn't happen to me because I didn't set up anything with him nor will I ever. He did flat out refuse to an agreed trade because beat was pulling more on the forums and he wanted more for it and the other BA obviously just wanted the agreed upon trade. He did work out another trade with some other people since he didn't want to deal with baldo. My point was he shouldn't be acting so high and mighty when he does shit like that. If there's any way to search the old forums I can show you awesome trader alerts on schmoopsbeer and he hooked up people too, doesn't mean he's not a bad trader as it stands right now and was a questionable one before then.

I would never go out of my way to soil anyones name but when they come to a thread I started acting all high and mighty when they do questionable things themselves, I will call them out on it. You can defend him all you want, it won't change the fact that he did what he did and it got him on people's don't trade with radars even if no one ever made a bad trader alert because he never got that far.
