Bad Trader - @babakshirdel

    We agreed on a fairly simple trade. My 4 KBS for his 2011 Mother of all storms. He actually contacted me about that deal. Decent conversation, fast information exchange. Had my package shipped within the agreed time frame. After a couple days he notified me he would be sending his box out A few days late. I told him that wasn't an issue, things happen. This was his last transaction on May 15. I have not received any more messages and certainly haven't received the package on my end. I attempted to message him several times and even contacted the number of the address he used, to no avail. Would say this is resolved if he holds up his end of the deal. At this point it seems unlikely. Just don't want to see anyone else have this issue.

    OP, hindsight is 20/20 of course but you were well within your right to have the other party ship first given your more extensive trade history and that they only have 1 trade on the books here. Good luck. Hopefully they'll come through.

    Absolutely. I had other Packages to ship so I just went with it, but you are correct. Just hoping this can help someone else if he attempts the same move. Thanks guys

    Hmmm, partner had no posts, no activity, one trade, there was no formal trade request, and OP did no search of his user name to find out past problems? Hard to believe this went wrong.

    Cool your jets . I've never had anywhere close to an issue before so I've never gone through all that as in depth as I possibly should have. I've learned for sure. Cut some slack captain caveman

    I agree OP....way too harsh. Certainly could have been written in a more constructive manner instead of a pile on manner. Hope it works out for you!

    I checked the trade history for babakshirdel and it doesn't show the bad trade.
    Why doesn't the feedback show it?
    Or did the previous trader not report it properly? If so, shame on jdprmd.

    It might of saved the OP.

    The trade request in that scenario was never accepted. I don't believe the initial guy could have left feedback.

    For clarification, was a trade request accepted by both parties? And your beer arrived safely at their doorstep?

    I certainly don't want to sound snarky, but as a moderator and avid trader, I don't think I need to tell (2) people who are grown adults to accept a *trade request* and moderate their trade arrangements.

    I own up to him not accepting he trade request. I sent it when I shipped my box and he just never accepted it. Again, should have probably waited or let him ship first but I'll definitely take all this as a lesson. And according to my tracking number it was delivered. Too bad

    Thanks for posting another warning for us, this guy should be banned for sure.

    I do have a flair for the sardonic, I find it often makes a point. Sorry.

    New traders: the point is please do your due diligence with a search of this forum and also beer trading for username of your potential partner. We are a fantastic community, and you could go your whole trading time here without a problem and without checking stats of partner. OTOH there are multiple folks who have gotten zapped multiple times, so it isn't like the risk is zero. Very easy to check, and of course there are no guarantees.

    Sorry, I didn't blame it on MODS. I just meant if jdprmd couldn't give bad feedback on his transaction, couldn't the MODS of allowed of opening it up so that he could leave bad feedback?

    I know this isn't the perfect system, but likely it would of either helped or prevented the OP's situation.

    We really don't have much access to the system and certainly not the level to allow something like that. Only Todd and Jason have that kind of access...but I'm not sure even they could do the kind of thing you're suggesting.
