And this scenario is a big assumption on my part......

but trader is from Texas where they don't get SOS. A trader local to Lawson's distro would likely be able to get this very fresh with no problem. Someone from Texas more than likely he got these in a trade which means they are older, lending credence to the theory they sent knowingly sent old beer.

    My personal opinion?
    1. It's very clear, even through a photo on the internet, that the cans in question have a '7', not a '9'

    2. Even if we gave the benefit of the doubt that he mistook the 7 for a 9, we'd also have to assume that he can't read a calendar or add, because 9/21 would be a week and a half before October 1st. It would be easier to assume that he can't read *and* can't add if we didn't also have the suggestion that he tried to conceal the dates on the cans.
So yeah, I think bad feedback is warranted either way. Because blatantly lying about canning dates is really no different than lying about the beers you are sending.

I 100% agree with you, but the most damning piece of evidence? His lack of responses

Wow, @BeerKnurdTX was on 4 hours and 36 minutes ago. I guess he won't be offering up any explanation or making good.

Mods, time to send him packing??

    @Todd ?

Hold on, I found him in some TX groups and am trying to get an answer and appearance from him. He has ties to the beer industry, so the behavior is especially... unfortunate.

I feel like this is at least the third or fourth time I've seen a bad trader thread pop up and it turned out the person had some connection to the industry. Not sure if it's just that a lot of beer traders are already involved in the industry or if there's some other factor that results in them being lousy traders.

The name attached to @BeerKnurdTX popped up in a TX thread. He's on vacation and said he'll look into this when he's back (date unknown).

He was not happy about the public notice of an alleged bad trader case, but he has had weeks to respond to @sorandomok and was on BA at least on 10/10, 10/12, and 10/29.

Good. I'm sure @sorandomok Is not happy that this clown tried to pass off old beer by scratching off the date on the can and than disapearing on him when he was called on it.

If he is on vacation he should have time to deal with this.

Thanks for tracking this down! Wow, that is rich of him to not be happy about a bad trader case, what nerve! In this day of ubiquitous internet unless someone is kidnapped, no excuse for weeks to go by without checking up on emails/BA.

If he is on vacation he should have even more time than normal to deal with this issue. So basically he's prioritizing his time over the well-being of his trade partner which in itself is a major douche move.

Seeing those cans, if he really just made a mistake and has vision issues or doesn't know how to read, clearing his name would be priority number one. His lax attitude towards this things lends much more credence to the notion he was trying to screw soran over. He has time to visit the site but somehow doesn't have the extra 30 seconds to respond to @sorandomok? Right.....

Welcome @BeerKnurdTX to my no trade list for life.

As an aside, I just did a trade with @sorandomok
Great trader, no one should hesitate to do a deal with him.

Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it.

As far as @BeerKnurdTX saying he is on vacation, hopefully he is telling the truth and will explain and or rectify the situation soon. As others have pointed out it seems like a pretty flimsy excuse, but I will save my judgements.

Not that hard. This thread started on October 13. BT hasn't bothered to visit this thread to explain himself. He tells OP he's on vacation. He's had plenty of time to make this right, and is never going to make good on this trade. Kick this idiot out and leave him to FB trading.

@sorandomok, just read the feedback you left for @BeerKnurdTX.

Always believe you should mention the bad trader thread. Might want to edit your negative feedback and point out this thread exists. Other traders need to know the whole story.

I have thought the same thing on previous bad trader threads, the feedback system should have a field to include a link to a bad trader thread. I think the field for leaving feedback now may not be long enough to include a description and the link. If BA adds another field for link people can see when leaving feedback, would be good reminder to include the link.

And while we are it, other recent bad trader thread where two people only got their box after a bad trader thread and a long delay resulted in two "OK" feedbacks which still leaves the bad trader in question at 100%!! OK trades need to ding person's feedback %.

And I wonder if most traders even look at a potential trader's feedback page listing all the feedback prior to making a trade with them. Will they even see OK feedback? I'm sure many people active on the forums do but I don't think it's always the case for everyone. If I had to guess, I think a lot of people just click on someone's name to bring up their stats window and just look at the Trading values displayed there and only really look for a 100%. Of course, it's incumbent on people to do their due diligence and read through their feedback but many people likely don't.

Even if an OK remains as it is and does not negatively impact the feedback % (this topic has support on both sides), might there be a way where the presence of an OK can be reflected on the BA user feedback stats which pop up when clicking a user's name? Perhaps where the font is currently displayed as white for the '100%' instead display the 100% in yellow font to denote the presence of at least one OK? This might visually give someone reason to pause and read their feedback as to why there is an OK there. Not sure if this can be coded at all but just a thought.

Here is an example of the feedback being displayed.
