I would not suggest any sort of recourse outside of this thread, and maybe contacting him to see whats up if you have his phone number.

While its shitty that you didn't get your end of the deal, but after all is said and done you're only out a 6 pack of beer, it could be worse.

I will be in Florida this weekend, and if I see any I will grab you a 6 pack of it, that's if he doesn't make it right by then.

 

There is a separate bad trader portion here to post these. I think they normally take out their personal information other than their username.

 

IF you can think of legal, effective recourse, go for it. These fucks getting away with the bs simply enables & emboldens em.

From a distance, it's difficult to know what, if anything, can be done that's within acceptable parameters. I know some members have resorted to contacting evil doers through family & employers. While that's harsh, & verging on extreme, I think it's warranted & acceptable. It's certainly no more extreme than violating trust, community & civility to rob someone.

 

Also, ask a mod to remove the pi. I know in some cases mods & admins are taking it to that level, which is terrific, but I think they're the only ones permitted to do that here.

Yes, it could be worse. I lost ~12 backwoods bastard plus a bunch of extras when I first started but at least we had a trade request set up so I could leave feedback. It's the only time I've lost beer but also the reason that I ask those with 10 or fewer trades to ship first. Don't worry, people like that really are the exception

True, only 3 headys--but for some people, particularly west coast guys who don't trade that often, that might be a little bit tougher to swallow. Sorry to hear about this, OP--sucks when this happens

Understand the sentiment, but in my opinion, he/we all need to let the community know of a bad trader in our midst. Don't think I'd be chasing down family members, etc for a 6 pack, but the bad trader thread is certainly warranted.

OP, I don't have regular access to jai alai, but I go down to Florida occasionally. If one of these fine gentlemen above doesn't take care of you, I'll grab you some on my next trip.

 

As far as a bad trader thread helping, given his newness and lack of any kind of activity, he has no reputation to lose, so I think this thread will not have any impact on him. But you should have posted it anyway.

You should contact him on his Facebook page and ask him what is up.

 

While it was only 3 HT it is still stealing and a total dick move. You say you have his linked in account? Give him a call at work and ask him about your beers. My guess he will become instantly more responsive when his shady personal life starts to interfere with his work life.

 

I'm just saying... it's weird this dude would go bad trader status for 3 HTs.

 

I agree that it's a lot of effort and non-sense to go through for a few beers. The being said if the only repercussion is the equivalent of banning an account he obviously cared nothing about to begin with then that's not much of a deterrent.
