Bad Trader Oandjinaustin

Yeah so here was his response on August 5th after receiving my package:

"Hey brotha just wanted to give you an update, prairie is releasing two really dope bottles in the next week and So is jester so was seeing if there was no rush and id rather send you a dope thank you box instead of some shelfies.

OHHH by the way not only was lickinghole the talk of the share I was at because of the name and city it's in but the saison was great, some fresh mint character from the Rosemary, light kiss of spice and nice a dry. It was a favorite out of many badass bottles well minus Ng R&D Peach... That shit is gold!!"

Again - really hope he is gonna come thru, but might be false hope at this point

 

@OandJinAustin - You are on-line right now, hopefully that means you are going to respond to this thread and get the people the beer you owe them.

 

Jesus Christ, i just messaged him. Wow. I'm not a flake, liar, or thief... I simply just havnt been able to finish the box, pack, and ship yet. It may be later... Way later then it should've but I'm not hiding away and fuckkng the guy over, that's for sure.

 

Been 45 days according to OP and 10 says since there has been any communication. You have the beer he sent you, he has a big fat ZERO from you. I have never been involved in a trade that hasn't been completed within a week or so. Get the man his beer. If you don't have time to finish the box, pack it and ship it you shouldn't be trading.

More details from you on what has transpired since this whole thing started will go a long way for people to draw their own conclusions on whether you are someone they would want to trade with.

As always it is amazing how the appearance of a bad trader thread makes people come out of hiding.

 

No need to be hostile. If I waited 45 days after I sent my box, I would be upset too. I know we have his side of the story only, but if I knew my trading partner was waiting for beer from me- I think I would try to get right on it and over-communicate until I did.

 

I do think everyone is jumping to conclusions a bit here. Honestly, should he have done a bunch of trades if he was this busy? Probably not - but both I and the OP shipped our boxes first so you assume that risk to begin with. Anyway - he already responded to my message along with a pic, so I am willing to grant him the benefit of the doubt here.

 

Oh and @Mattygross44 sorry you've been waiting so long for your beer and I hope you get your box from @OandJinAustin soon, but if you would like to send me some sweet Cali nectar, I promise to ship you some of Richmond, VA finest quickly!

 

Everyone probably needs to chill out a bit - @OandJinAustin has responded, at least one of the traders @afish has gotten a response and the communication is back up and running which is a pretty good outcome. At face value things look to be back up and running, and it is going to take at least 3 or 4 days for boxes to arrive.

@OandJinAustin - thanks for coming on and responding - it looks like you are doing all the right things to get the boxes out and make up for the delay.

Note though, that some of the peeps around here are sticklers for clear and frequent communication, so you will need to pull through on your end as this thread will live on. The way you handle the delay is going to be what matters.

 

Good to hear and glad he responded...JMO, sorry..None of us here jumped the gun..The whole "work got in the way" stuff is the typical retort from people who are taking too long, which this was ridiculous...Glad this was a learning experience for both and once again shows the extreme importance of communication....

Would be curious to know, when you agreed on the trade with him, did he have the bottles he agreed to trade in hand already? Was there an agreed upon shipping date?

@jrnyc raises a couple of good points. If this was a pre-trade, and/or the agreed ship date was a few weeks out then that is important info. It makes the difference between being a week or 2 late (a bit annoying but not really bad) and a month late.

Since these threads live on, it would be good to know the specifics of what was agreed

 

He obviously has plenty of time to view Beer Releases.

I find it *ironic* that the BA that gets called out usually comes in *guns a blazin'* and tells everyone else that they've got the situation under control and we should just relax and let the ship sail its course.

How about a *sincere apology* first and foremost and what you plan on doing by *communicating* to your trade partners. Something that should have been done from the start. Not wait to get called out on it to make it right. Another BA added to my list for obvious reasons.

Soooo OP sends promptly, gets no box for a month, gets a bunch of excuses that partner is too busy to send, gets no communication for ten days, partner meanwhile makes other trades, comes on line often, and still is blowing off OP? OP finally makes bad trader thread in which it is discovered partner is blowing someone else off also? Finally after being tagged numerous times and having a bad trader post linked to his profile partner comes on all pissed off at the nerve of folks to think he is trying to steal beer? Is that pretty much the long and short of this?

 

Right, and OP still has no tracking number...But hey, we are jumping the gun and need to chill ..... BTW, @afish , did he actually give you a tracking number or just that "cool" thumbs up bro, I got your beer! pic?

Not sure if anyone else noticed, but the quoted statements don't jive with what's pictured. Those beers were released in March and April. Those are awesome beers if they're what you agreed on. Hopefully that's just the beginning of a box and more beer is sitting out of the frame.
