It's not our place to do so.

All trades are made at your own risk.

OP can BM Todd to discuss his situation and see if negative feedback can be left for the bad trader.

I have a personal trade experience with rboinski that was similar. it took months of hounding before he made good on the trade. Would not trade with him again.

Todd said he would add negative feedback when that feature is available if I recall correctly.

serious question, why would you not ban someone who is ripping people off? seems like a detriment to the community. Basically facilitating a thief...

    Probably because of this:

right, I don't think anyone would ask BA to recoup their losses. But just seems like it would be in the best interest of the website to weed out people who are clearly here to prey on others... not trolling here I'm legitimately curious

I totally agree with you, but I figure that would be the response regarding some of these issues in the trade world.

BA neither explicitly condemns nor condones trading.

Beer trading is (at best) a grey legal world and there are potential legal liabilities and repurcussions to actively regulating that activity in either direction.

We're smart enough to know that trading will happen regardless of any attempts we make at restricting that actvitiy. We allow the trade fora to exist (for now) because it would be silly to ignore the phenomenon as a whole.

That said, responsibility for trading lies with each individual trader. That's all there is to it.

The trading community always has and must continue to police itself. That's why we (finally) implemented trade feedback. Your trade reputation is only as good as your feedback from the community. The community will weed out out bad traders itself over time.

Yes, some people will get burned. That's the risk you take. If you can't take that risk, don't trade.

It's just another reason why multiple accounts are prohibited and we encourage users to report accounts which they suspect to be duplicate accounts.

I wouldn't ban the guy's user account just based on my bad feedback solely though it sounds like others had issues as well. I could be full of shit though I have a good trading rep here so far. But it should be a red flag when these sort of things become a trend with multiple users getting burned.

In the end, the individuals involved should bare the burden. And the good that happens in trading far outweighs the few bad experiences that take place.
