If I go to order a beer, receive a beer, but don't pay, Is that stealing? Similar to what happened here with the agreed trade

Its more than negative feedback, @ionlion needs to receive what he is owed.

What would be kind of funny is if you are flagged as being called out. For every action you do on the site, you are directed to the thread you are called out in to see it (like a nag screen) before you are able to proceed. Only once you have addressed the call out, will the nag screen go away.

Excellent people skills. Your brewery must be a joy to visit (although I'll never find out)

According to this news article "Troy Greer" is a "managing partner" so any hurt that comes to the business as a result of this issue is well deserved.

It also seems like you don't pay attention to trades you agree to until you get called out in a bad trader thread. @ionlion would love to hear how he is rectifying the situation.

I think you just sealed the deal for me bro, don't think I will be patronizing your establishment. And I will be damn sure to tell everyone I know to stay away as well.

Wow. The lack of perspective that some folks have is astounding to me. @ionlion please let us know if/when the "culprit" makes good. Won't get him off the "list" but will let me sleep better knowing OP didn't get ripped off.

I'm no small business consultant, but if I were starting a brewery, seems to me that the first (and easiest) component of my strategy would be to not become blacklisted from the #1 beer site in the country over a $40 trade. Just a thought.

I would think Florida bureau of Alcohol (or whatever it's called in FL) that licenses breweries wouldn't look too kindly on a licensee illegally shipping alcohol. Not too smart for a brewery owner:confused:

@troygreer add me to the list of Central FL BAs who will not be visiting your brewery.

    Lame.

C'mon man...you know how these work. The community shames the bad trader into making good. The bad trader apologizes and makes good.

Copping out behind what you owe and don't owe people isn't going to put you in a favorable light. No matter how you feel about what's happening here, you are the dude in the wrong...and especially with a business reputation on the line (a beer business no less), you should get with the making right...

Most would probably forgive you. See: all other bad trader threads.

I don't condone stealing but it would be a shame if a bunch of folks showed up at his brewery and forgot to pay their tabs. Ordering a drink/food is an informal agreement that somebody will get what they ordered and the establishment will get paid. Kind of like agreeing to a beer trade.

And @troygreer you do owe this thread some sort of response. Had you not flaked out, @ionlion would not have been forced to make the situation public in order to get a response/action.

@troygreer You need to step up in a positive way. The longer this goes on the more harm you are doing to your new business. I would think all that time you spent on it, you may want to spend a few minutes to stop the alienation of your potentially best customers.

Right!? It just seems unbelievable that he did not have that kind of foresight!

Wow had a lot to catch up on. @troygreer did email me and gave me a sincere apology on the whole situation. He is taking the correct steps in making things right. He is going to PayPal me the cost of they beer owed and shipping. He also offered a thank you box but I told him that it's not necessary and the fact that he reached out is good enough.

Pfft. A ty box most certainly should be forthcoming. He reached out belatedly only after you went public. Even then it took him awhile. Your time & effort isn't worthless. This trade demanded a lot more from you than just the beer you paid for & shipped. His responses here have also been on the crappy side of slack.

Pfft indeed. Why is anyone calling it a thank you box anyway? It's a fucking box he owes you, not one that he'd be doing you a favor to send. The PayPal funds should be interest on the late shipment.

Excellent news here, glad Troy is making it right! A PayPal payment can be made and verified pretty much immediately. Can you please post here when he had indeed made the payment here so we can put away the pitchforks and torches?

(Although, in this case the pitchforks and torches seemed pretty effective)
