I didn't see that.. He is not on the list yet btw. OP did contact me but I don't add someone as soon as he is reported to be a bad trader.

    It's in the works.

I'd like get opinions or more info on one of the claims here. Is that $100 the insured value? I know FedEx will sometimes default to $100 if left blank. Or is it a declared value of contents when shipping international for import tax purposes? If I set up a trade an I sent $250 worth of beer to Belgium in exchange for $250 back and my trading partner specifically tells me to put a value of $20 on the package, and for whatever reason the box is lost or completely destroyed in transit not due to packaging, am I then expected to take my $20 from the claim and repurchase $230 worth of beer out of pocket because my trading partner was tryin to evade taxes? Seems like he chose to take that risk.

I know some people will say if you can't afford to replace a package why are you trading, but the same could be said for the guy in Belgium, if he can't afford the import tax don't trade.

Sorry if this comes off as dickish, but I think this is totally relevant and could potentially save more people the headache caused By this situation than one bad trader

I think when it comes to domestic shipping, if you can't afford to replace a package, then the "why are you trading?" question comes into play, but international shipping isn't cheap, so lets say it's $250 worth of beer, plus shipping you're looking at the $350 range when you include shipping. Not everyone has $700 lying around to trade for 1 box of beer if their box breaks. When doing international trades, the declared value should always be accurate IMO. Fuck paying cheaper taxes, if you want the beer, you'll pay the taxes. However, the sender should pack the hell out of each bottle. Triple boxing and all that.

Now, if you don't have enough money to ship twice, then that's a whole different story. If you win your claim and can't ship again, then why are you trading?

As for the Loons for DFH...essentially it was a locals for locals trade so it shouldn't be seen as an extremely lopsided trade, but damn, I'd have sent a MASSIVE box rather than what was agreed upon just out of principle.
