I don't know that I have seen a thread that isn't exactly a bad trade, but a bad transaction or interaction. @BrownAleMale

We had agreed that he would pickup Big Hugs for me from Half Acre as I could not go down to Chicago that Sunday. I was going to buy 1-2 bottles from him, and or give him beer in return. We had planned to meet in person as the below conversation details. There were other untappd messages as well, but nothing on BA, just Facebook and untappd. We agreed to meet on New Years day in the afternoon at Three Cellars, after he went to the airport. I have not heard from him since we agreed to this, and he has deleted me on untappd and blocked me on Facebook as I cannot message him anymore. I cannot give negative or neutral feedback as a trade wasn't setup on BA, and we aren't allowed to advertise purchasing beer, but many of us have set up someone else picking up limited releases and then getting them.

People can take it as they want, I thought it was worth a thread in this area. I messaged him again on BA yesterday, he has been on the forum since and posted, but has not viewed my private message.

It's within walking distance of me, so not far. I did not go myself as he was going to call/message me once he was on his way from the airport or there. I did drive back from Sheboygan/Plymouth area though early and changed my plans that day to be home in time for our trade. I do not have a number/email for him, he does have my phone number though.

Correct, an agreement is still an agreement or should be. People post on here about people canceling trades with or without reason from the other person. I was under the impression I could or would get this beer for beer/cash. That did not happen. I wasted time and structured my new years day to make sure we could meet when he was in my part of the state.

    Hmm. Here are the problems:
    1. Did not use BA trade system
    2. Sounds like this was a purchase, not a trade
    3. You aren't out any money or beer

Perhaps the individual in question pulled a crappy move but I'm not sure he deserved a thread like this or that the matter even belongs on BA

My 2 cents, for what its worth. I do agree that an "agreement" is like a man's word. Its tough to hold someone accountable if they can't even communicate with you. I do understand what your sayin, although stuff does come up that puts getting beer for others not a priority. And since this wasn't done on BA with the use of the trade feedback system, no beers were lost, but just your time. I would make a note to yourself not to deal with this person and move on. Not so much for being a bad trader, but more so a crappy communicator, which is a pet peeve of mine. I personally find that people who have great communication skills are your best traders. Throw up an ISO on these boards, and maybe you'll have some luck and a better experience.

Thanks for warning us about your bad experience with him, but I get sick and tired of people coming in here to bitch about bad trades made elsewhere. Trade on BA, with other BA's, and if you get screwed, this community will help.

Well we did meet on BA, and he is a BA. We just communicated through other means. I didn't think a trade in the website system was needed as it was a proxy or pick up of beer. Maybe people normally still put a trade in on here.

I will next time, lesson learned. Fair enough

I don't know why people are complaining. Even if this deal wasn't an "official" BA trade, the guy is active and has trade feedback from as recent as December 2014. This is information that I certainly would find helpful about this guy and is enough for me to know that I don't want to trade with him.

I don't know if what happened would lead to what would be considered a bad enough transaction to call out because I am missing a few details. What was agreed upon for the beers he is picking up. Was it a favor and you were paying him for what he payed or paying him extra(or the beer was for his trouble). Something could have came up (ie. bottle broke, forgot to pick up, sold out) As far as I see it its bad communication but not on BA. Also, If he was paid ahead of time that is another issue because he has money and you are owed beer.

Also, blocking on Facebook is very suspicious behavior.

I'm with you, we could use more details in regard to what exactly this trade involved. I hate when people post stuff like this but leave out a lot of the info people are going to want to know

What Mitchell doesn't mention is he originally told me that meeting at noon on the 27th would be fine as our original plan for getting the beer that he solicited me for. I contacted him the day before and he said he was unable to meet because he had to work even though he had already told me prior that that the afternoon would work. So I was still going to try for later that night but I had plans (the whole reason I was in his area since I live about an hour away). I was unable to that night so we agreed for the 1st. I messaged him that morning since he was non committal on what time on the 1st. He didn't respond respond until a couple hours later with his phone number and I grew sick of not being able to track him down and hold him to a time so I did indeed blow him off.

I could have handled it differently in the matter of leading him on that I would still show, but he solicited me for these beers and I was the one trying to work around when he could be around. Told ms yes for noon on the 27th and then couldn't because of work, then didn't respond in a timely fassion on the 1st and I just decided to be done with it.

I've gone out of my way to be very generous to many BA's both on here and in other realms. I believe that while I could have done things differently that I didn't owe him anymore of my time.

This is actually completely false. Until I was tagged, I never saw the thread. Once tagged, I looked at the thread and responded.
