I bought 2 cases of Zombie Dust at the Brewpub Tuesday December 11th and have had some issues with them. One of the bottles was empty with only a little moisture visible inside. There was no signs of any leaking or cracks. What's really disappointing is that most of the bottles have had a very off flavor. None of the usual hops, just some bitterness, almost sour, and none of the usual aroma. I've drain poured about half of them over the last week and a half. Tonight I opened 8 of them and every one was bad. I bought these only 12 days ago at the Brewpub.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar issues recently with Zombie Dust. I've never had a problem with any 3 Floyds products in the past and hope it's a one time thing.

I'd say call or try and talk to someone at FFF about it. Maybe save one of the "bad" ones to bring to them. Keep us posted on how this goes. Talking to people that work at FFF is pretty frustrating most of the time. They have the "Holier Than Thou" thing down pretty good.

If you have two cases of bad beer, I'd try emailing them first incase it is a known issue, I don't think the staff there is authorized to take beer returns.

Is there really a such thing as a "good zombie" from which good zombie dust could be obtained?

On a serious note, I think what DarkMagneto said is exactly what I would do. The best thing you can do is that, then hope they don't take the approach he said they might take.

Ive recenty had a zombie at my normal dive bar. Almost looked like some heady topper. We all called out zombie topper. Was really good though. So no complains from me, just kinda wierd. I know it doesn't make a difference but on the 1/6 barrel it said zombic dust. New variation? And rumor mill start.

I recently had a bottle that was about 2/3 empty. Just a mis-pour (fill) I guess.
    Tasted terrific still.
I guess that happens from time to time especially when your growing and trying to pump out enough beer for a 30 mile radius of the pub! j/k

    Cheers

I e-mailed the pub and the sales staff. I'm not expecting a response until after the holidays and will update.

I was curious if anyone else has had the same problem, wondering if it's an off batch.

i just opened up my case that i bought a little over a week ago and I noticed that there is a ton of sediment at the bottom of every bottle. I am going to chill a few this afternoon and hopefully it tastes how it always does. Otherwise I will follow in your footsteps and email the pub and sales staff. Lets hope they make this one right.

i would definately email right away, and stop opening bottles, if you say you bought 2 cases but only have 1 bottle left, they will prolly just laugh at you and replace that 1 bottle. they are going to want to opening a few bottles and have the right people taste them, they can prolly determine if it is a bad batch, or a problem with sanitation. if you do go to the pub, talk to the manager or bartender. people talk shit all the time about the servers and doormen and they forget that those people work in the restaurant, not the brewery. they dont have the power to give out free bottles of beer, and they usually dont know what beers are in the works or the exact recipe of every beer.

"Holier than thou" is a terrible choice of words. these guy would prolly worship satan over god, or i would assume many of them are not religious.

I got an e-mail today from a VP at 3 Floyds. He told me to bring in the bottles so they could taste them and replace them for me. He was very nice in his e-mail.

That was the theory I had about myself also, embodiment of cool . Couldn't have been nicer people. I assume the Saturday rush, and stress of the day, warps peoples opinions

I had a bottle of Carbra and the bottom of the bottle blew out. The contents emptied out all over my basement floor. I sent them a email along with a picture and got a quick response. They replaced the bottle no questions asked . They handled my situation with class and professionalism

The gang at FFF is good to go.
Do they avoid brewery questions? Yes.
But do have have to deal with alot of bullshit because they are so popular? Yes.

    Food is great too!
