Has anyone had their new triple IPA? I saw it was brewery released this last weekend.

I just found out about it yesterday. I hope to try it by the end of the week at one of the hopmob events.

I had it at flatstick pub Saturday night in Kirkland. It was kind of disappointing, didn't keep up with the Airways and Cloudburst offerings.

Interestingly enough, I got a bottle of Black Raven's recent triple IPA only a couple weeks back. It wasn't bad by any means, but I'm used to Wisdom Seeker, their double IPA, being so great, that I found their triple IPA to be a bit lacking and not as impressive as I had hoped.

Not to derail, but speaking of Bale Breaker, weren't plans to can their double IPA, Bottom Cutter, announced almost a year ago? Has anyone heard word on when we might expect to see those cans on shelves? (I think we're truly spoiled to have fresh cans of Field 41 and Top Cutter available almost anywhere you go!)

I didn't hear about that, although I do hope its true! Topcutter is the perfect IPA to go with food.

That's crazy. Bottomcutter is splendid so I was projecting the triple to be orgasmic. I was assuming because with Boneyard, HV was good...but Notorious was a clear step above.

I have seen others on untappd that loved mount saint humulous, maybe it was a bad pour. I sipped samples of 3 other hopmob triple IPAs that were garbage.
I asked them at beer festival last summer and all I remember was "next year". They have 10.5 months left, but I would definitely appreciate sooner!

I was totally about to type this same exact question (threadjacking: a PNW forum tradition). I've missed on Bottomcutter every time it's on-tap around here, sometimes by minutes, and I really wanna drink that beer!

I finally harpooned it myself a couple weeks ago at Chuck's. Along with Block 15's Intergalactic Hop Shop, it was the most crushable crowler I've ever had. Keep looking.

Had it at their taproom last weekend it's pretty solid has their signature flavor and taste much better once it hits around 45-50*, I still prefer fremonts triple trifecta much more though

Not sure where you are, @woemad, but Bottom Cutter is on tap at both Chuck's locations right now. I just picked up a crowler at the Greenwood spot a little while ago; thought I'd let you know...

As a Spokane dweller, Chuck's is a bit of a drive for a growler run. Appreciate the thought, though. Almost as much as I appreciate the nose on this Cuvee de la Nuit Profonde from Selkirk that I just opened up. Totally different kind of beer, I know; just thought I'd share!

    Cheers!

Sorry I didn't know where you were/are. Had I been more industrious, and looked through past posts, I'd have figured it out on my own...Yes, a few hours' drive is too much for Bottom Cutter, but I hope you can find it locally soon. It shouldn't disappoint, being a truly great IIPA, whenever you locate it. At the same time, it's nice to know you've found a worthy alternative to enjoy.

I noticed that Bottomcutter was at Manito a week or two ago...that is probably what you were referencing when you said you have missed it "by minutes". Sadly, I was not able to get up there to try it, either. :slight_frown:

Block 15 Hop Shop is killer stuff, too. First B15 brew I have had and I hope it's not the last. I have one more can left in the fridge...

Not your fault, @woemad tries to hide his location. Understandable. Who amongst us is happy about having to live near Bing Crosby's toupee?

I thought Spokane was his armpit, while also being his and @woemad's home, but I guess it's all the same...

After sampling it myself today, I'm guessing it was a bad pour. I cannot say definitively that it's better or as good as Bottom Cutter, but if it's not, it isn't far behind.

You laugh, but my location enables me to drink Selkirk Abbey beers from the source. That alone is a great reason to live near Idaho.
