Just wondering if anyone has tried these (relatively) new aluminum cups for quaffing your latest Hazy IPA? They seem like they'd be great for camping or bottle shares. Obviously not as good as glassware, but glass isn't always practical.
I have some Stanley stainless ones that came with my Growler. They're pretty similar, aside from the metal difference. I don't use them much, but they're good when I have people over in my yard. I hate watching people wander around my concrete patio with my Waterford.
I do not want an aluminum cup. If the jewels are at risk, I would prefer a well cushioned, steel encased, carbon fibre covered cup. Uh, hold on (voices from the control room in my ear piece), uh, apparently different kind of cup.
I just bought an insulated, stainless-steel, 16-oz logo glass from my downtown brewery so that I can fill it and walk around the 'social district' while drinking beer and looking for food (which the brewery doesn't offer) and going into stores, etc. There is a purpose for metal glasses and I'm okay with using them.
Just say no. Why would you pour your beer into a big radiator/heat sink. That thing is a sure way to bring your beer up to ambient temperature faster than a glass. And on top of that, you can't see your beer. Even a solo cup is a better insulator. Maybe good for fridge temp stout that you're too impatient to wait for to come up to proper temp.
