Ok. I read the recent post of "screw ups" and realized that I took apart a gas disconnect the other day. I didn't really look at how it was put together. There's a spirng and a little plunger jobbie made of plastic and an o ring. Not thinking, I just plugged it all back together. Does the spring go on the top or bottom of the connect? Also, which way does the (bobber?) go? Cheers
Put the post in first with the attached rubber ring pointing down, then the spring goes, then there should be a small loose o-ring that goes in, then the top gets screwed on.

What I'm seeing ins that this pic has it all wrong. http://www.kegworks.com/enlargeImage.php?productid=176214&imageid=22325 The post is upside-down and I placed the o-ring in second to last on top of everything so it sealed where the top cap seats. I checked for leaks and it's tight. If I place the post in like this pic, it is unstable and doesn't release any gas. I guess that's better than I feared--gas leak.
Just by looking at the picture SH-815 is upside down. You'd never put a spring on an angled surface like that. But what would you expect for a site that has beer pong equipment. But actually I never knew those came apart. Glad this question was asked.
I tried it like that twice. The stem won't push in and won't release gas. It's ****-eyed and doesn't work for me. I turned it around and tried it. It worked. I took it apart to see if I was overlooking something and it didn't work AGAIN. I turned it around and it worked a second time upside-down. It doesn't leak and it's putting gas where it needs to go. I'm missing something here....
