i emailed them about availability and got this:

    Hey Tony,

Thanks for reaching out to Ballast Point, currently we are still in the government approval and testing process. This process can be time consuming and unfortunately we don’t have a confirmed date at this time.

However, please feel free to reach back out to me early next year and I would be happy to give you an update.

    Cheers!

Seen in on shelves in NYC a couple times (in bottles). Never habanero, though.

Lures in Crownsville, MD had this on tap. I wasn't able to go and it apparently blew in about 2 hours. Next opportunity will not be missed.

Judging by the reaction of folks across the country to the initial release in bottles and kegs (albeit limited) my guess is that Ballast Point will send this shore to shore.

There is no reason for them not to brew as much of this as possible. Sculpin tends to sit on shelves these days. If Grapefruit Sculpin moves faster, just brew slightly less regular and send both everywhere. Folks will pick up a pack of each to try them side by side.

It's a great beer, btw. BUT it's definitely a summer/warm weather drinker. Not sure I'd buy a bunch of it in January in Wisconsin. But June-September? Hell yeah.

Maybe mix them? Could tone down the heat and counter it with nice sweetness and acidity.

For those of you that have tried it, is it any good?

Maybe worth a try after the initial release where you can gauge age to a degree, but after that forget it, the regular Sculpin is always old stuff and 17.99 a sixer too. No thanks.

This is in TX already, I bought a six pack a few weeks ago. I'm sure the cans will come as well when released.

Gary, Ballast Point has a new Distributor for our area and you now see Sculpin for $13.99 a sixer.
