Ballast Point: Houston area

Yeah I asked Specs in Pearland and Seabrook today about both of these while I was hunting for the Hellfighter. They searched the computer and it was 0 inventory across the board. They had no idea of it coming in. The people that work at the Specs I go to have no interest in keeping up with all of it. It kinda pisses me off.

 

A fellow beer lover on another forum, who is from Austin, just posted a shot of Lagunitas Sucks, Victory At Sea and Sculpin he just picked up and all are fresh.

 

The Sculpin was brewed FOUR DAYS AGO.

if it was brewed four days ago i doubt that it's something you'd want to drink, if i was already in bottles and shipped to you

 

This is all really good news. I wasn't expecting Ballast Point in Houston this early in the year. Definitely going to have to keep my eyes open for it.

Same here. Someone on here also mentioned we are getting Firestone-Walker as well.

 

I did see the mention of Firestone Walker in another thread. It looks like 2013 is going to be pretty awesome for craft beer.

Hmmm.. now I'm wondering if it's worth driving down all the way from downtown for these.

 

VaS is really good. Sclupin is worth a try, but I wouldn't drive that far myself.

From what I hear, if you have time to hit Nobi, it's probably worth it.

 

that's ok.. this year's V@S I found to be best at near room temperature.

well, i put it in the freezer for 5 minutes then poured it. it's pretty damn rad. i feel dumb for bringing some back in a suitcase from christmas now, but w/e.

This place amazes me. They got Pontificator 1 day after bottled and nobody else has it!
