Ballast Point in Ohio

    Just recieved word from a great source that Ballast Point will be distributed in Ohio. Below are those that have been approved, truck left San Diego this am with 21 pallets.

    -Calico Amber Ale
    -Dorado Double IPA
    -Victory at Sea Imperial Porter
    -Tongue Buckler Imperial Red Ale
    -Sea Monster Imperial Stout
    -Big Eye IPA
    -Sculpin IPA
    -Indra Kunindra Export Stout
    -Pale Ale
    -Black Marlin Porter
    -Wahoo Wheat

    Wouldn't have believed it if the photo wasn't posted. I mean, c'mon, how many times have we been told a brewery was coming to OH only to never see it happen? Ballast Point has been rumored for over a year now; glad to see that it is finally happening (most likely, because, let's be honest - until the beer in in my hands I will always retain some doubt).

    It's cool, but I don't know how much I'm going to buy. Depends on the price, I guess. Love me some Dorado.

    The Porter and Sculpin are great, and Victory at Sea was one of the best beers I had last year. I am definitely psyched to be able to buy these and try some others.

    I know they used to not date their beers, but accroding to "Fresh Beer Only" it says:

    Ballast Point: Uses a best before date. Ex.: BE293/03302. BE = Big Eye, 293 = Batch, 03302 is the best before (Mar. 30, 2012). Shelf life is six months.

    Only about 2 pallets of Sculpin coming our way, which means it will be limited to about a case per account.

    This is great news! Victory at Sea and Sculpin are pretty tasty. Ohio has to be one of the best states for distribution. Three Floyds, Founders, Bells, Smuttynose, Alesmith, Troegs, Southern Tier.....the list goes on. Now if we could only get that stupid 12% ABV cap lifted.

    Sure is good to be in ohio at the moment (sure would love bourbon county though!)

    Question, does anyone know if we are only getting bombers of sculpin or six packs? I love the beer but I think I would prefer six packs of this over big eye.
