You actually like Satan's Bake Sale?! I felt it tasted like toothpaste! :grimacing: On the other hand I only ever had one other and that was from Flying Dog. That one was alright.

Peppermint mocha coffee and peppermint stick ice cream with hot fudge are some of my favorite things around this time of the year. Hell I order the coffee in July sometimes if places have the syrups. This sounds excellent.

I'll try it if readily and locally available, but won't shed any tears or feel disappointed if I miss it...too many other quality quaffs around to get wrapped around the axle about this variation of a theme (as good as base-level VAS is)...

That's one ingredient that will help that beer taste less like beer than it already does. ;-)

Right, right, because sriracha and chocolate/coffee sounds like an equally good combination compared with mint and chocolate/coffee.

The Voodoo doughnut beers don't necessarily sound bad, people poo poo'd them because, after tasting them, they determined they simply are bad. As in, poorly constructed beers that don't taste very good.

I assume you don't really care much for mint? Or maybe you do, you've just never had a mint stout? In either case, you're being ridiculous, there have been a plethora of successful mint stouts released by other breweries that consistently pull 4/5 overall ratings here and higher. People like them. For fuck's sake, SamN, get it together.

Not likely I'll get to try, but just thinking about the taste of beer after brushing my teeth or eating a mint makes me cringe a bit. On the other hand, I can't think of a Ballast Point beer I've disliked.

I reserve my evaluation until after tasting, drain pouring, or buying an additional bottle. I actually enjoyed their habanero sculpin. Didn't buy another, however.

Had it on draft at their brewery in Miramar over a year ago. I can still remember it, Made a flight of all their Victory one-offs.

I Hope so. Alpine is now available in Florida, and it's amazing. Bring it on!

I'm sure it will taste good.

It would be better if they actually bottle a whole new beer rather then recycling their base beers with simple additives added to them.

I have tried the Victory At Candy Cane Cove, which is basically this beer that is "dry hopped" with candy canes after the fact. This is great stuff.

This. While I will no doubt buy a sixer of this, sounds great, I loved Ken Schmidt's Chocolate Mint Stout, it's almost getting sad how often Ballast Point has done this lately. I know they brew beers that they don't even distribute nationally, why not bottle one or two of those? Why not take a chance with something new?

Hopefully it'll see distro in TX. I haven't had the regular yet but am sitting on a case + of the bombers. I'll gladly buy this in a heartbeat.

Really hope this makes it to my market. How many variants of VaS does BP make? I know they do a horchata version - my wife and I had it on draught earlier this year in San Francisco. Yes, it was freakin' amazing.

Looks like peppermint, peanut butter, and coconut versions are all coming on draft. Mule Bar in VT is pouring those at their Victory at Sea day in VT on the 20th.

Had a bottle of this last night. I love VOS and sadly I did not like this. If you enjoy NyQuil poured in a cup of coffee then this is the beer for you. Too much of a medicinal/chemical for my liking. Sadly much to my high hopes, this is a miss for me.
