I don't like comparing to bomber prices, there is always a pretty big disparity across 6ers/bombers/750s/500ml. At $15 that's a pretty damn expensive 6-pack. It's a good beer, and I'll buy it here and there if we keep getting it fresh, but it's not good enough to replace Odell as the go-to, always in the fridge IPA for almost twice the price. I get Odell as cheaply as $8 when Target gets a fresh batch.

yeah it's pretty tough to go against $8.49 sixers of Odell IPA that are always fresh.

Agreed, and I think that both (Pliny and Sculpin) taste pretty similar to Odell IPA. Odell has just a slight bit more malt to it, but in a good way, as it adds some good sweetness to the tropical hop notes. Altogether, once the excitement of having such a stellar beer (finally) distributed to CO dies down, Sculpin has little chance of usurping Odell IPA as my go-to fridge beer. Especially given the price point, I can only see buying it every so often as a change of pace.

Picked up some Sculpin at Trader Joe's on Colorado ($13.99/sixer). Guy working there said that's all they're going to get. Hope this isn't true for the rest of Colorado...

They also had their amber ale Calico, if you're into that sort of thing.

Sculpin IPA is the best IPA I have had to date! So excited to have picked up a sixer of it in Boulder yesterday! $13.99 certainly a bargain IMHO.

Unfortunately that Trader Joe's employee was misinformed. A new drop of Ballast Point is en route to Colorado and should hit shelves again in a week or so.

Where are they $8.49? Where they aren't $8.49 are Argonaut, Grapevine, Joy Wine & Spirits, King Soopers Glendale, and IIRC, Mr. B's...

Still undeniably a bargain at $9.49-9.99, which is what I recall as the range at the places named above

I am going to guess Target on Colorado Blvd, they always had the best pricing. I thought I remember their IPA and seasonal sixers being $8.99 though....still a great deal.

I think that one Target is the only place with a price that low. Still, it's a steal for a couple bucks more almost anywhere else.
Modus Hopperandi is usually in that same price range and I think it's every bit as good, although certainly different.

They also have 4-packs of Ten Fidy for $9.99 (used to be as low as $8.99)

Wow...a $9 4-pack of Ten Fidy? The very first batch OB canned was still $12. Most places still charge $10 when it's on sale. Crazy. They might actually be losing money on a few of those beers.

With the whole "only one store can sell booze" thing I could see them not worrying too much about margins and just getting people into the gigantic Target to shop. Who ever walks out of a Super Target with only the thing they came for?

went by the Glendale Super Target this AM and in fact the Odell IPA is 8.49 and the Ten Fidy is 9.99.

Avery prices weren't anything special, seemed a little high actually, and the craft selection was minuscule. But if you want Odell IPA, this is clearly the place to go.

Sorry for the thread drift. To bring it back a little, I saw no Sculpin at SuperTarget Glendale.

Drifting further, almost got some Sculpin Pale Ale today at Superior, but they had Rodenbach Grand Cru, so I got that instead.
