    Thanks for resurrecting, Paul.
To play off other points in the thread, I can throw a spotlight on the Bear Republic Racer5 6-packs hitting around town that were bottled Dec. 27. Still probably not fresh enough for those who drink from the teet of the hop, but it should do the trick.

Hmm, I saw one of those 12/27 (or as the bottle reads, "best before 06/27/2014") Racer 5 sixers @ argonaut on Monday but put it back in favor of the 1/04 Sucks directly above it. Think I'll go back and get it today...but I sure wish there was some Sculpin in that cooler!

I found some ballast point finally...but I had to move to IL to find it. What the heck is taking so long in CO?

you rascal, you started this thread, without which none of us would have gotten all hyped up about Sculpin's imminent appearance, now you move away and are presumably sucking down all the Sculpin you can grab with both hands, while we're still high and dry!

Indeed. It's just the way things worked out. I'm actually sucking down what many of you all are: Sucks. But Hopslam is on the agenda. Then I'll get back to the Sculpin.

With $10/sixer Sucks around, don't really care about $15/sixer Sculpin at the moment.

I prefer Sucks over Sculpin barely!

it would be nice to have them side by side...the Sculpin I had in VA, there was no Sucks available. The Sucks I have now, no Sculpin around.

Love this best before 6-27-2014. So a 6 month window on a IPA. That's a joke and unacceptable IMO. The brewer thinks this will still be the way they brewed it and wanted the public to have it. I guarantee after 3 months this will be a total Malt bomb.. Just put a Bottle on date on there. Plus Sucks is $10.49 and Racer $10.99. Pretty close in price but worlds apart in taste. I really like Racer but not in same class as Sucks..

Far as Sculpin goes. my buddy sent me some week old Sculpin a few months back. It was excellent but still not as good as Sucks IMO and the price point is ridiculous on Sculpin

Looks like it's finally going to happen. Ballast Point just announced on Facebook that they signed a deal with Elite Brands and should have beer on the road next week headed to Colorado.

I'm a little afraid to ask, but this isn't just a GABF distro is it? Anybody know?

With a signed deal with Elite, it doesn't appear to be just a GABF thing. I don't think the other limited drops sign distribution agreements with distributors just for a small batch that they send out. Pure speculation on my part though.

I always wondered about this and John Sliter at Elite confirmed it to me when I ran into him at Sierra Nevada Beer Camp--they do sign very limited, one-off distro agreements with out of state brewers, for GABF.

But (IMO, this part): I don't think they would announce one of those like this. Surely this is a general, ongoing distro deal.

Great info, thanks. I agree with your last part as well, would seem silly to announce just a one off deal.

I'll gladly pay $15/sixer for fresh Sculpin.

Hope they don't go the way of Green Flash...
