Any help for this noob? I was recently in NYC and had this brilliant grassy citrus filled IPA on tap. I noticed they aren't affiliated with any MD distributors but I was wondering if there was another way to get it. Trade? Something else?

Pretty sure they have no distro in MD. Maybe DC, but I'm not that familiar with the area.

Sculpin is in Philly area (assuming all of PA), and relatively easy to find. Not sure where in MD you are, but if you're that into the beer, it may be worth a trip.

Also pretty easy to trade for if you are into that route.

Good deal, looks like I'm headed to Philly.

As for its distribution in Maryland, I'm not sure but it's readily available in Philly if you ever get there. Trade is always another option.

EDIT: Looks like Jay beat me to it.

It's worth it to call a couple places you intend to visit ahead of time, because Sculpin doesn't usually last long on shelves.

Also, I think Ballast Point is distributed by Bella Vista, so SE PA afaik

Depending on where you are in MD -- you might have to take a trip to Northern VA. I just bought some BP Big Eye IPA at a Total Wine. I think they have bombers of the Sculpin.

Connecticut Ave Liquor had bombers of it this week ($16-17 per). They usually sell out pretty quickly, but they seem to get new ones regularly.

You could also order it on-line. Shipping costs are legitimate, but for me, it is still cheaper than paying retail for the hard to find beers when they do appear.

It's fairly common in DC/NoVa or PA now on draft or 22s. Haven't seen 6 packs around here in a while though. WF Vienna and Reston have had it in past few weeks for 8 or 9 a bomber and growler fills.

Was at Al's in Enola last Saturday and they had 6 packs of Sculpin. They seemed to have a pretty good supply, so more than likely it's still there. I want to say the price was in the $15 range... right around there at least.

This is up on Long Island but Sculpin is 10.99 a bomber, bought a bottle today (along with Victory at Sea)

I have only seen and bought 22's in Northern VA and there haven't been many in the last couple of weeks. Maryland will start receiving BP in September and they will have the "full line." In the interim, PA yup, but the best price is by the case for the Sculpin (12 oz's). Don't pay the crazy price at the "bottle shops" unless it is around $15 after tax. Bomber wise, I don't know the $ in PA but NoVa has it at Total Wine. I would call in advance though if traveling, as they have been out for several weeks.

picked some up today in NOVA @ the Total Wine in Sterling ($8 or $9/22oz). They also had Hopslam ($22/6er) and DFH 120 Minute ($10/12 oz).......all were also limited to 1 per person.
