So, you've never had a beer with a year of age on it that tasted different than when it was fresh? I guess aging is completely pointless then.

Yeah my brain is fried. You've been aging a beer you never had before. That makes sense. Lol

Opened one on my birthday about a month ago and thought it was drinking really well. Smooth and tasty.

Thats a hard call. It has at LEAST another year or so to develop at this rate. probably closer to 2-3 years to get close to peak, but thats just a guess. I would hold off for another year if you really want to give it a solid aging.

Had a Baller a few months back and thought it was drinking wonderfully. Would have to say that it probably drinking better than most DL's right now. Especially vintages '11 and up.

Sitting on a couple more bottles and having read what most people are saying looks like i might have to open on soon. Very complex and smooth beer. Coffee really lingers with nice boozyness and caramel, vanilla, toffee and just everything goodness.

    Cheers.

The last Baller we opened in Aug had a lot of bitter char coming through, maybe from the Black Albert? I thought it was quite off putting in the flavor. I have never enjoyed this beer as much as the separate parts, but I have also heard there was a lot of bottle variation. Maybe the flavors will meld eventually, but the $30 price tag was never worth it IMO.
