If you choose to go the Saflager W-34/70 dry yeast route you should utilize multiple packets (e.g., 2 packets). At 5 bucks a packet, two packets are somewhat pricey. I prefer to buy one liquid yeast pack and build a starter.

    Cheers!

I fermented a California Common with W-34/70 at 66 degrees. It finished at 1.010 while the WLP810 finished at 1.012. I have not taped the keg yet but the hydrometer sample was excelent. ( In my opinion! )

How many packets of W-34/70 did you use?

    Cheers!

    What temperature did you pitch/ferment?

    Cheers!

Pitched at 70, fermented at 66. Take care.

Yeah, pitching/fermenting that warm you probably only need a single packet.

If I were to use W-34/70 to brew a lager (ferment in the low 50s) I personally would use two packets.

    Cheers!
