Has anyone else checked-out the craft scene in the Baltics? I just got back to Portland from Latvia. While I didn't go to Estonia I tried a lot of their craft beers, plus about 6-7 from Malduguns in Latvia. The quality is amazing. I'm a hophead and I'm going to say that the Baltics have the best IPAs/IIPAs outside of the US. Really good f'ing beer. I really wish I would've brought back more Malduguns!
I feel cheated, not having found Malduguns in Riga. Had some good porter and other stuff there, and some excellent and funky country beers in Vilnius. Really, really good stuff. It seemed like a tremendous mix of heritage and inventiveness.
