Just had this on tap Friday evening and loved it, but I'm having a pretty difficult time finding anywhere to buy it in bottles. That was to be expected, so my question is.. Does anyone have any suggestions for a similar brew that may be easier to obtain? Suggestions on where to obtain the Barbar are welcome too, of course.
Don't have those here, unfortunately. Appreciate the information though. There's a beer distributor near Pittsburgh that specializes in Belgians. I'm hoping they can track a case down for me.
You should e-mail them: http://www.brasserielefebvre.be/en/contacts Not sure who imports there stuff here but I see it on the shelves at most good beer stores around here in Boston.
You could always post an ISO for it. I believe its sold in 4pks. Might be able to do locals for it I would think. Cheers!
No problem. In the forum section. You can go into the ISO:FT section and post you are looking for this. I dont exactly know where you are but it would go something like this. ISO: 4 pk of Barbar FT: My local beers or (insert what you have to trade here) Feel free to BM me to discuss ^^ The body of your post would look like that. Also looking at your profile I dont think you will be able to post yet without either have 20 reviews. You might want to do that 1st. Either 20 beers or places or some combo of the two. Cheers! James
You just need to find a Belgian beer specialty store near you. i.e. one that will carry a couple hundred labels. A store that only carries the basics like Chimay, Delirium, Duvel, etc won't have it. That said, it should be a very simple special order from any store if you want a full case.
I've reached out to several of the local distributors who claim to specialize in Belgians. Hopefully one of them gets back to me.
Finally had a distributor tell me that this beer isn't available in Pennsylvania. Seems odd since I know restaurants here have it, but I don't know if the guidelines are different for them or not.
Since the word came from a distributor I would think maybe just THEY don't have it in PA and therefore doesn't exist to them. /cynicism Ask the place that had it on tap; they obviously know how to get it.
its imported by Belukus, you might be able to contact them to see who distributes their products in your area. http://www.belukus.net/contact.asp
Finally found one distributor locally who sells Barbar but they couldn't get the Honey Ale unless I committed to buying an entire pallet of cases. Back to the drawing board.
