    Having spent a fair whack on some Delirium Tremens, Brooklyn Black Chocolate stout and tried in Vain in M&S to get the new red ale so came out instead with the BC Lancashire Dark Mild & Norfolk Bitter and Southwold Dark ale I felt much cheapness was in order.

    The Bateman's XB and much maligned Mocha there
    but I did find the So So Wadsworth's Bishop's tipple
    ans also the excellent Oakham Citra both £1.35 for a 500ml bottle
    so that is a baker's dozen of untested beer in for me :slight_smile:

    Oakham Citra for £1.35? If its even half as good as it is on cask that is one steal Bevis.

    Any idea what the Bishop's Tipple's like Bevis? I've had a number of Wadworth beers and they've all been pretty fine especially Old Timer.

    I would go and have a look but I don't feel like walking almost 4 miles in this heat and sun, with a bag full of bottles! Maybe next week when it's raining.

    I honestly don't know, I have only had Wadsworth on cask (the 6X and regular bitter) down south being dragged about the Bude Jazz festival in Cornwall, so spot on (if served without much of a head).

    I stick my reviews up very quickly (apart from when I have to decipher my handwritten notes from the pub lol)
    Though The missus says I should save it for Easter.

    Distinctly underwhelming from what i remember of the bottle i had about a year ago, has it changed over the years? I can remember having it 20+ years ago but cant recall if it was any good then. I'll check out B&M tomorrow see if the Oakham has turned up, cheers for the heads up.

    That's why I posted it, they have been a bit hit and miss of recent

    oh and I forgot the Moorhouse's Pride of Pendle though I suppose this might be a regional thingZIMBO! ZIMBO! Zimbo! The Reply thingy not working.

    I have a little note book with beer labels on which I have so far managed to keep a secret.

    Well impressed with your notebook and the whole secrecy thing. Hope it goes for quite some time. Since I was rumbled friends are usually on the lookout for it and when spottted I get the stock: 'Just drink the f*cken thing! '

    £1.35 for citra? When we've got weather like this? I'd be fighting the other shoppers off with a stick.

    This is Manchester, if they were to have a few pence of whatever flavourless chav lager/cheapo cider then fighting might be in order I doubt I will have problems with low stock lmao

    Essexaleman, if you're talking about the Cardiff B&M they don't have any. I live nearby and just popped in and there was no sign of any beer.

    That is a shame, because of the Citra and the Moorhouse stuff though no Black Cat.

    I wonder if we all emailed the store manager if it would help bring B&M beer to the valleys?

    I can only hope that the Citra might be in a B&M near me - I'll try and have a look at the weekend. If it is I'm having the lot!
