Such a rad little place, went back tonight and they have Patsy (Coconut Rye Porter) on, so got a growler of that and ran home smiling. Haven't been able to eat there yet but food looks super solid as well.
I haven't made it over there yet. My friend went the other night and really enjoyed the beers, he said the coconut rye porter was his favorite. I did go to the Good Beer Co. in Downtown Santa Ana recently and really enjoyed their first few beers. Orange County beer keeps getting better and better.
Kevin at Barley Forge is a great brewer. Unfortunately he had a bad run at Latitude 33 because of the owners. He previously brewed at Backstreet Brewery in Vista and Alpine. Hope I can make it up there to check out his beers at some point.
I checked them out last weekend. Their food is better than their beers unfortunately. I tried all five beers they had available and none impressed. The best of the bunch was the stout, even though it was still unfinished at that point (no coconut). It is a nice facility in a good location, and it is cool they have an on site kitchen (weekends only I was told). Like most of the recently opened OC breweries, they can only get better.
Visited last Sunday with the wife and we both enjoyed it. Impressed with both Barley Forge abd Good Beer Co. I usually expect young breweries to disappoint in the early batches, but both of them are producing solid early offerings. Encouraging.
Since I live minutes away, I will be frequenting this place pretty often. They also have a Grand Opening event this Friday
Did anybody go? There were a sh!te load of people there. I made it down there around 1 after stopping at Noble. Couldn't find any parking and left. Went to BT's for an Angus burger and the Apprentice. Parking was terrible around Barley Forge.
