Barley wine BU:GU ?

    Hi guys!
    Im planning on brewing a 5 gals barley wine next weekend, what do you think is the best BU:GU ratio?

    I agree with inchrisin, here. Barelywine, to a large extent, is a catch all category, where some are light, some are dark, some are sweet, some are hoppy. It depends on what you want the experience to be. Are you looking to base this off of any particular commercially-available Barleywine?

    As others have said "it depends". IMHAO : ), don't use anything too delicate (low alpha).

    You mean like all the fuggles and/or goldings that I generally load into my English barleywines?
