Something about Four Roses barrels, I've had a few aged in them that I haven't loved.

I was just thinking about this cuz it seems that Black Ops has also had infection issues.

Maybe four roses store picks are just Ass?

These Mortalis BWs were known to be infected and Mortalis did right by allowing returns for booboo pastry stouts they had available.

The 2 sips i took reallly fucked my stomach up. It's been kinda burning from the apple cider vinegar taste it had:joy:

So you'd rather have infected barley wine than pastry stout? Damn.:stuck_out_tongue:

I don't like hop forward beers. And I'm a huge fan of English Barleywines. However, this is almost too sweet even for me. I think it'd be better, if it was aged for another year or two. But it's far from bening a drain pour. :sunglasses:

I think he should wait. The label says to let it gather dust through 2023 and beyond.

Looking 50/50 for me. I like sweet BWs but this seems like it leans to the extreme end. Hopefully I can get through the bottle. Maybe I’ll expect it to be extremely sweet and my expectations will be so much that it’ll actually be fine once trying it

Reading a bunch of reviews on Untappd lets me believe we will both enjoy it even though it's on the sweeter side. If it really is too sweet add some bourbon to it to cut that down. Problem solved!

Three floyds makes ugly barleywine. They taste great and I love them but they sure aren't much to look at. I wish we had seen that one around here

not many barleywine are what i would call “pretty pours” but yeah, in the light, this one is one ugly mug lol

i liked this one but much prefer BA behemoth since it’s less sweet. this one is still solid though.

The recent BA Behemoth batch is great, better than the last I think. Stilly murky and turbid though.

There are some lookers in the barley wine world, plenty of pretty shades of Amber or Scarlett. Bigfoot is a showstopper.
