It is! And it lives up to it. The only downside to this beer is that I enjoyed it at their nearer location that is officially a winery, which they claim prohibits them from selling any to go. Their brewery location doesn’t have it on tap, they should make a stupid law against that.

I generally prefer English to American—but tonight I dug this bottle out from the back of my beer fridge and was pleasantly surprised. I can’t find a date anywhere on the bottle but I’m guessing it’s vintage ca. 2012. (If anyone is able to ID this bottle from the design, let me know.) Still, very nice carbonation, crystal clear, great hop presence, very well balanced.

I also have a bottle of barrel-aged Numbskull from around the same period (I probably bought both bottles on a long-ago trip to Portland as I believe at the time AleSmith didn’t distribute to Washington—I actually have no idea if they do now), I will try to open that one soon.

LOVE that beer!! If you still have some left try adding a little bit of bourbon to your glass to kick it up a notch! Have done it with a few pours I've had back in the day and it was glorious.

Not drinking this now, but Hair Of The Dog Don (2022) was review 1700 for me earlier this week. I only had the small pour shown the other day and another small pour today, and it's bulletproof even being open for 3 days. This thing is absolutely insane. Loads of dark fruit, wood, port wine, nuts, and so much more. A highly complex, highly recommended beer

3 Sons Brewing barleywine aged in rye Heaven Hill barrels. Really nice. Heavy dark fruit and rye spirit forward.

Frankenboltzzzz Brewing (Montgomery, TX) Abnormality Barleywine - superbly boozy English barleywine. Pleasantly complex with toffee and caramel with a rich earthy molasses and dark sweet cherries flavors. It was fun to sip it while people fussed over my dog Ralphie!

I wish I could figure out the dates of my bottles as well. They just released a new one, but I am actually wondering if they just released old bottles. The new ones didn't have a date either!

In my experience, this can easily be open for over 30 days without changing. It's right up there with Utopias.

Here's one of my favorite GI brews and wheatwines...its a little toasty and sweet and the caramel and cinnamon work perfectly together. great effort on this one

Awesome! Me and my buddy had a decent amount of it last night but I'll be slowly sipping the rest of it over the next few weeks

I got a bottle off Tavour a month or two ago (Only $10 I think). It's hiding in my cellar, but if it was indeed an older vintage release, I will gladly open it sooner than later.

tasty stuff. my rating ended up exactly the same as the bourbon barrel treatment although differences do exist. i thought this one was less smooth and little more barrel-forward. both excellent though. cheers!

Well this is a bit different. Kinda reminds me of a tripel. The booze is evident in the smell and flavor, and has a slight medicinal quality, which maybe sounds unappealing but is actually enjoyable. As it warms a biscuit quality comes out.

Seems like several styles of beer mashed into one, although I'm liking it. With 8 cans I'll leave a few cellared for a while to see what happens.

Here we have a real oldie—still has great carbonation, outstanding aroma, flavor and mouthfeel. Wish I’d bought more of these back in the day, it’s held up well. Cheers!

It looks like they don’t make it anymore. On their website under “specialty beers” the only listing is for Biere de Noel. Sad. This one I’m drinking is excellent, if I didn’t know better I would have no idea it was 12 years old. I have one more bottle from 2012 and then I guess that’s all she wrote.

Hell yeah, I had one of those way back in 2009 and really liked it! One of the all-time great, old school labels.
