I'm intrigued by Barleywine's lately. I've tried Third Coast Old Ale and it was fantastic. Was wondering about some other good one's that are available in the upper Midwest. Thoughts?

Barleywine is not an area I have expanded into much, but I like loved Steel Toe Before the Dawn.

    Yeah, this one.

Or try to hit up Town Hall when they throw out some Twisted Reality.

Or get your hands on some Lunker and/or Before The Dawn and get your mind blown.

Love town hall twisted reality/twisted trace.
Give Stone Old Guardian a shot, its a typical "stoned" up version of a barleywine. Kind of expensive in the TC area though at $10/bomber.
Bell's third coast remains my favorite, Big Foot is decent but I didn't think it was as complex. Thomas liquors may still have the big foot 4 year vertical on sale (approx $18).
I'm waiting for this year's third coast to I can do a 4 year vertical.

I certainly plan on getting Goose Island this year when it comes out. Missed out on it last year.

I enjoy full sail barleywine quite a bit for a $5 bomber. Also, I 3rd or 4th bigfoot, but it gets better with 2-6 years on it.

Firestone Walker Sucaba (would have to trade for it) is my all time favorite BW, with Before the Dawn/Lunker very close behind. Some really good suggestions in here - I'd add LiftBridge Commander to the list to try.

    YEA this!!!!

I have a generally good line on getting Sucaba, just drank my last Abacus (now Sucaba) a month ago. Man that crap ages so well.

I also second Billionaire and man I may have to look around to find more if it is there. Loved that one, had it the same day as Abacus, it was a good night.

Lift Bridge Commander is one of my favorites, it may be hard to find outside of the metro area though.
