Just picked up a crowler of BA Ten Fiddy at Tasty Weasel on Friday. Looking forward to opening that can on my next break.

Ba Ten Fidy at FoBAB was poured from unmarked 16 oz cans.

I have trouble believing that a can is going to sit there and suddenly start leaking over time but I could be wrong.

I actually had 10Fidy in the can about two months ago and although I had poured it from the can to a glass it still had a horrible metallic taste. Does anyone know if higher alcohol beers could actually break down the liner that is put in cans? "I ain't no scientist", so I don't even know if that is possible.

Lots of brewers using small scale equipment will likely end up with oxygen in the headspace of the bottle. Also, the beer spent 4+ months in a porous barrel being slowly introduced to oxygen. It's in there no matter what.

ya but not to the point of it tasting oxidized, so there is still a purpose for the wax.

Forget this, I'm waiting for barrel-aged beer sold in a mini-barrel that was used to age the beer.

It does actually. I taste oxidation in many BA beers right after releases. Which is why don't really age them.

Funny I drank a 17 year old aged beer and did taste a lick of O2, maybe its a God send that my pallet cant taste it, or else its not there.

I thought wax was O2 permeable though? Isn't wax just for show?

Why would you wax a bottle or a can , they don't have hair.

Wax is o2 permeable, and no it is not just for show.
    So what is the question.

Here is a quote, "Tannins are a powerful antioxidants and therefore provide something of a buffer to the inevitable oxygenation that occurs through porous woods."
