    Hello all!

I'll be visiting the NW burbs this weekend/next week for Easter and was curious if anyone had any good recommendations to get some local BA beers (or any other great recommendations for that matter!)

    Any insight would be awesome

    Thanks

Revolution has a few out, latest one is Straight Jacket, a barleywine.

Black Note ( Bell's) has just hit Chicago the past day and this week moving further.

Definitely Revolution. Not BA but also look for Pipeworks and Half Acre.

Revolution makes some pretty good barrel aged beers, and they arent too hard to find. Straight Jacket is my favorite from them (BA barleywine, good as any other I've had) and its still sitting on shelves.

Pipeworks released 3 BA beers late last year, with a second round about a month ago, but I doubt any are still around.

Black Xantus is easily available, if you haven't had it I recommend it. Definitely try any of the Revolution stuff you find: Straight Jacket, Deth's Tar, Very Mad Cow. Might get lucky and find Parabola or Sucaba somewhere. DDBA is available in spots as well. Which suburb will you be in?

Avoid: Cahoots, 50/50, any other overpriced bombers Get: Anderson Valley, Central Waters. Honestly CW kicks the crap out of everyone else price-wise and the barleywine is world-class. For sure have seen it at Capones recently and you might be able to hop the border and get it in WI for even cheaper still (I've bought it for 11.99 a 4pk with almost no tax)

Te beer cellar in glen ellyn. It is the place to be. The ownner, Dave, is as good as it gets. Probably will have something cool to taste as well. Opens at 11 I think

The Beer Cellar is also hard to find because it shares an address with another shop but is downstairs. Great little shop though.

There's a Binny's Beverage Depot in Glen Ellyn. I haven't been to that location before, but the Binny's I have been to carry a good selection of locals (among many others).
