Barrel-aged beers in Chicago?

    Wild ales and barrel aged saisons. I don't remember them releasing them in 2018/2019 though ... kind of odd, but Im intrigued by a few of them.

    Mine was carbed ok, it's definitely thick as hell, which may create a low-carb mouthfeel, but maybe you got a bad can, too.

    Yes, the beer's pretty sweet, but there's plenty of roasted malts and roasty coffee character to stand up to that. Maybe Stroop isn't the greatest variant, I liked the previous iteration and most of all, Reserve. It's one of my favorites from them and one of the favorite pastry or adjunct-type beers locally. So many breweries don't even bother balancing these beers and produce straight sugar, I can't just drink pure Hershey's syrup man...

    Examples: Henna, Curvature, most Mikerphone beers, Saint Errant stouts, Hubbard's Cave, etc.

    This is my rant for the day :grin:
