Bourbon dude here. I enjoy my bulleit, knob creek and occasionally a top shelf bourbon (in a Manhattan) when out on the town. Second spirit would be Pisco, only the finest from Peru though. I would absolutely LOVE to see a Pisco barrel aged beer! But that's not possible as Pisco is bottled directly off distillation, lol.

I loved bourbon long before I loved barrel aged beers. IMO barrel aging is becoming a bit too popular as you see every brewery doing them now. Only the pros know how to do them right (FiftyFifty, Bourbon County etc)

Used to be bourbon & water in my younger days, now I will savor a glass of Anejo tequila if I want something aged besides beer. Funny though, tequila aged beer makes me gag whereas bourbon barrel aged beer makes me swoon at the knees

I enjoy a full-bodied red wine from time to time, and bourbon to a lesser degree. I suppose it's no coincidence that Consecration is probably my favorite beer of all time.

I don't really drink liquor, though I'm just starting to discover the pleasures of scotch whisky. But I absolutely love what barrels (bourbon, wine, whatever) do to beer.

Beer mostly here. Not exactly into liquor or spirits, except occasionally some absinthe or tequila. I can't stand bourbon, but oddly enough, I think some bourbon barrel aged beers are decent. I think I could get into red wines, but I try to avoid it. I do not need another expensive "hobby". :stuck_out_tongue:

I drink barrel aged stuff all of the time, but I can't tell you the last time I had a bourbon, or any spirit for that matter

I stick to craft beer 95% of the time. So much to explore, so little time ...

I did expand my tastes to include bourbon a few years ago. Blanton's and Four Roses Small Batch are currently on the shelf. A good friend taught me to appreciate single malt scotch a few years ago. I also enjoy a nice tequila - not the gut rot, but the sippin' stuff. Rum only works for me in something like a dark and stormy. And I have NO interest in gin.

I do not consume gin or tequilla, but whiskey, cognac, bourbon and wines. ( the spirits are rarer in my life than are the wines.)

Beer only here, which probably explains why there are very few BA beers that I actually enjoy.

There are scotch barrel aged beers. Meantime Naval College Old Porter is one, although that beer sadly seems to have gone downhill. Used to be great, now it's only so-so. Baladin Xyauyu Fume is another, and that beer is fucking awesome.

I think there are less of them because scotch makers are able to reuse barrels. Bourbon has to be put into new barrels, so the old ones have to be repurposed - often by other spirit makers, and now more and more by brewers.

Actually there are a few! BrewDog's Paradox series and Ola Dubh come to mind. But if you don't like scotch I wouldn't recommend seeking them out, especially because both are pretty expensive. But just a fun fact!
