Beer only for me, other than a few rum drinks if I am on a tropical beach or something.

I rarely drink any alcoholic beverage other than beer or wine. When I do, I prefer gin, and really do like the wide variety of botanicals used to flavour it. I can count on one hand the number of times I've had bourbon, scotch, rum, vodka over the past ten years on one hand.

That said, I like all kinds of barrel aged beer. My preferences, now that I've had a broader assortment lean towards apple brandy/calvados and bourbon for the barrel. Rum and wine I have found to be hit or miss to my tastes.

I enjoy Most spirits, I can appreciate a great tequila and Rum during the Summer, Bourbon/Whiskey almost anytime besides the Dead of Summer. Slowly appreciating Gin more thanks to The New Hop Water product that is out there. Also New Favorite Summer Beer/Spirit concoction is A Gose-a-rita.... simply use A Gose of your liking, blend with ice add tequila.. its great! cheers!

I enjoy good bourbon, rum, gin & wine.

I'm not a huge fan of apple-brandy but I seem to really like beers aged in apple-brandy barrels though.

I have been trying to develop a taste for Bourbon as I LOVE SO MANY BBA Stouts....but so far I have not been able to do it....and I have purchased some really great (people tell me) Bourbons to try and move the process along (Buffalo Trace, Blantons & Eagle Rare)

Also a JW Lees Harvest Ale aged in Lagavulin barrels. I liked it, but I can see how it might appeal to only a narrow demographic.

Mostly beer though I enjoy a nice complex red wine every now and then. The only spirit I'm into is vodka. Not much barrel aging there...

I drink whiskey, mostly bourbons and ryes, regularly in the fall and winter. In the spring and summer, cold beer is my drink of choice with a fresh cocktail thrown in every once and a while. I'll drink wine at a restaurant with dinner and only have other spirits in cocktails.

The wood is porous, so oxygen also plays a role in the flavor development.

Yes, but he said he drinks wine....homemade wine. That's the equivalent of saying I only drink my own homebrew because NOTHING in bottles is worthy

homemade wine made with fresh fruit(strawberry, raspberry, cherry) and high sugar content. One might call it hillbilly wine or jungle juice. Must be I just don't care for fermented grapes, idk

I do enjoy Rum and Tequila from time to time and am trying Whiskey to broaden my experience but beer is still 98% of what I do drink (alcohol wise).

    First and foremost: BEER.

My wife loves wine and well so do I. Being a member at the local winery (across the street) is nice during the summer (All 2 months of it in Chi-Town)

Starting to dabble in Brandy but I always have a bottle of JW Black or Gentlemans Jack to go with stogies.
