The only two I have had are Dogfish Palo Santo, and Brash Biggie Smalls. Both of them were REALLY good, some of my favorite beers of all time. I'm know there are others out there but these are the only two I have ever seen. What other BA brown ales can you guys recommend me?

It's under the Port Brewing label, not Lost Abbey. It wasn't worth $30 a bottle either.

Palo santo marron is a fine brew but I think the wooden vessels are like 10,000 gallons so I don't think it's quite a barrel aged beer the same way as the ones aged in actual spirits barrels.

Also I don't know enough about this type but is FW's double dba a type of brown? It's listed as an esb but I'm not sure how closely related they are.

Just saw this the other day and passed on it. Didn't realize it was BA'd. Now I need one.

    Five come immediately to mind:

    1. Clown Shoes/Brash Flight of the Pimp - Now retired, but an amazing barrel aged Imperial Brown. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22951/81977/

    2. Brash Biggie Smalls - Brash went it alone for this Imperial Brown that was a blend of rum and bourbon barrel aged beer. It was a one-off, but I still occasionally see it on shelves in ATL. I agree with you, OP--very nice. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/29426/101761/

    3. Widmer Bros Kill Devil Brown - The original run, 2012 in a cardboard box was amazing when I cracked one open a few months ago. The '13, not so much. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/8/80794/

    4. Red Hare Bourbon Barrel Aged Watership Brown - Opinions vary regarding Red Hare, but I thought this was a nice drinker. On tap only in ATL. (Don't see it listed--I need to add this one.)

    5. Finally, I took a trip to Upslope while in Denver this past November, and I was privileged to try a barrel aged brown they had in house. Amazing! Like everything else I tried there. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/18564/130153/

I think Jobu's still on shelves around here, that's rated pretty well
