Visiting my family in Detroit. Went to a local bottle shop and discovered a whole shelf of BBB. Never tried it or saw it in Philly. Think I should take advantage of my newly found discovery?

Gotta agree with those saying Fremont KDS. I haven't had the coffee version (ISO!), but I'm sure it's awesome based on how good the regular KDS is.

TG Assassin does not have coffee in the beer. You are thinking KBBS(maple, coffee, aged in bourbon barrels).

This! I had it at a Barrel Aged Beer event and was blown away by it. Me and the GF got back in line several times to get more.

If you haven't read this entire thread then you need to look at Post #51 on page 2 before buying very much of this beer. The batch number may determine your level of enjoyment of it.

Never had Tweak, but I agree 100% with the other 3 on your list. Add Revolution Bean Gene to the list, even though it is technically a Porter.

I'm in the Princeton/Lawrenceville area, and I picked one up about a month ago at the Joe Canal's in Lawrenceville. Its not there anymore (which I'm totally bummed about), but it seems it does get distributed out here.

Yes it is very solid. I don't think you will be disappointed, despite the lack of hype. Is it BCBCS? No, but its darn good.

I had this years and it just wasn't what I remember, but the first time I had it on tap versus this year's out of the bottle, the tap taste was grrrreat!

Not a fan of Smoking Wood, but the coffee version is solid.

I think Coffee KDS is better than standard honestly.

I'd rank them Coffee KDS>KDS>Spice Wars KDS. All are good, mind you.

But don't listen to me, we don't have any rare beer in WA.

Sometimes I find myself being like "ughhh 10 bucks for ______ Oak Aged Yeti..." because it is so readily available i think i forget that it is barrel aged...and probably the most reasonably price BA beer out there...
