Hey I still have 2 bottles from the November 2015 release, the one in bombers with the black and gold label. I've heard rumors of infection issues, but nothing concrete. Can anyone confirm either way?

In my experience, its a rumor.

Have not had a bad bottle or even heard the rumor.

I had one on Saturday. Not sure I'd go so far to say infection, but it did not taste the way the batch in the 12oz bottles did. A friend theorized the lactose might be turning, but that was pure speculation.

Suffice to say, I wouldn't hold on to it in perpetuity

I believe the rumor was that some of the Hunter Coffee was infected. Not sure if it was ever official.

Also, it says on the BA Hunter bottle that it should be consumed right away, and not aged.

I had a bad bottle of Hunter Coffee but not a BA Hunter. I will say that the guys at 18th Street took care of that bottle. They have great beer, but even better customer service!

18th St acknowledged that batch of Coffee Hunter was bad and gave replacement bottles for them at the brewery. I brought in my bottle with half left and got a Vanilla Hunter to replace it.

The only thing bad about BA Hunter was the way 18th St handled the release!

To paraphrase the announcement: We told you the beers shouldn't be aged, if you were silly enough to disregard our advice we'll issue you a refund, not because it is our fault, but because we don't want your whining impacting our business.

Again. Never taking accountability. The release was infected as well as the beer. I love that they hurried up and bottled Coconut Hunter while never officially saying it was sold out. This brewery is a joke.

I stand corrected...not only was the release bad, now the beer is bad too!!!

I used to love this brewery, what the hell happened?! I feel like it's been all downhill for a year now, infections, overpriced BA releases and I still can get over the price of Grapefruit Dead. $22 for a 4 pack of 12oz cans takes some balls to list it at that price. I actually saw some unintentional comedy in 18th's Twitter mentions when someone was calling out a Indiana liquor store for pricing GD at $25. Little did that person know it's only $3 cheaper at the brewery!
