i really don't see many of these, i understand that generally beers with a strong hop presence should not be aged but DFH Burton Baton and CCB WOJA are too superb beers IMO and made me wonder why we don't see more of these.
Anyone else like this style and/ or know of any good examples?

Well, if you have $25 to spend, barrel-aged Torpedo is out (although not sure if distro is national).

Had a Stone Arbalest the other night, a BA Belgian IPA. To my surprise it had a pretty good hop presence.

Great Divide Anniversary beers had a couple barrel aged IPAs.

Stone 15th anniversary had a barrel aged black IPA.

Only one I can say I've truly enjoyed and actively searched out is White Oak aged Jai Alai from Cigar City. I freaking love that beer!

Doom from Founders was pretty spectacular IMO although I don't think it was well received by all. Also Michigan distro only but Odd Side Ales BB Citra Pale Ale is another good one. I get the argument that you shouldn't put hoppy beers in barrels because it mutes the hops but to me the barrel just adds something else.

I'd like to try that White Oak Jai Alai, Burton Baton is the only other one I've had, and it was so long ago, I don't remember much about it

I think the Burton Baton is threded, meaning the IPA is fresh and the Englsih ALe is what is aged. someone can correct me if i am wrong..

For a hoppy IPA much better to use oak spirals or honeycombs soaked in spirits to imitate the barreling process. I have done this homebrewing with exceptional results.

I found a promising one from Seventh Son Brewing in Columbus called Woodwolf. It's their Willowolf DIPA aged on cherrywood and oak. I've got two in my basement aging. I can't wait to try them.

I believe Burton Baton is a blend of DIPA and English Old Ale. Not sure if it's a good example of barrel-aged IPA, but agree that it's awesome. I haven't seen it being distributed to SoCal in quite some time.

In similar spirit, Hardywood Park uses pieces of poplar (similar to spirals in function but square with plenty of surface) for their Hoplar IPA. Very good results.

I have had a couple that I really liked. Actually I liked them better than BA stouts. I know that is a personal preference. I would assume that the two I had were dry hopped after aging since they had very nice fresh hop aroma and flavor.

I'd drink one of those bad boys now! Also I had to pass on them, Whole Foods wanted $20 for one!

The O2 that permeates through the wood reduces the hop flavor and aroma. People won't drink old IPA due to reduced bops, but that is OK in a barrel?

Founders made a commemorative beer for the NHC in GR, and that was an IPA with added oak honeycombs in the steel tanks. I liked it much better than Doom.
