Barrel Aged Lagers?

That beer was brewed by Pabst's joint venture in China (not Japan), and, while its name is confusing, it was not simply "Pabst Blue Ribbon". As described by Pabst's brewmaster in China, Alan Kornhauser (ex-Schell, Anchor and Portland Brewing Co.), the beer was "all-malt, reddish brown strong (15.7 plato) ale, dry hopped with Cascade (38 IBU) and aged in new uncharred American whiskey barrels."

 

BA Troegenator was the best beer of 2014 so far, IMO.

 

It would have been interesting to try the pre-Hurricane Katrina Dixie Lager, which was apparently aged in cyprus tanks. I've only ever had the Minhas-brewed stuff. Ooof.

 

I would wonder if those were lined with Brewers pitch.
