Barrel Aged Narwhal - Worth buying two?

I agree! Although, it's funny you say that about the barrel. I feel like some people's criticism of it seemed to be that it has a lack of barrel character.

In my opinion, the only reason it doesn't have even higher of a score here on beeradvocate is because it's not super rare and you don't have to wait in some line to buy it. I put it up there with the best BA stouts.

 

I wish I could find it for $17-$19 like some folks here; I was seeing it more like $22-$24 here. Thought it was incredibly boozy fresh; if I could get it cheaper I'd cellar some.

 

Get 3 or 4. I only bought 2 when it came out here and regret not picking up more.

 

Agreed, very very good. Though, it was pretty hard to find around here. You had to know where to look. AND it was pricey. i paid 22$ and 18$ for the two of mine.

I would probably wouldnt buy another if I saw more (right now), but if it comes out again next year, i'll be hankering for another!

 

Whenever you can afford it, the answer to the OPs question is always "yes"

 

Had a glass on draft yesterday at Mills River. Yes, buy multiples.

 

I did the same about a week ago and enjoyed it more than the bottle I had.

 

I'm with you, I didn't think it was very good. It definitely tasted like a first attempt to me, far from a refined recipe. I don't reccommend buying another until you try it.
