I wonder if WI is the only place getting Distro. Alesmith really shot themselves in the foot if it gets out that all of us rushing online and flocking to these release are being lied to.

I believe I also saw the BA Grand Cru on the shelves in IL a couple of weekends ago. In any event, at just shy of $40/bottle here (for non-BASS variants – I think BASS is markedly less), it's not exactly a bargain.

No, WI is not the only place. Oregon and WA also have limited amounts of BA Numbskull, Wee Heavy, and Grand Cru. No Speedway. The prices are higher, though, than the brewery releases. I just looked at the release for JBM Speedway and BA Wee Heavy and BA Wee Heavy is under $30 per bottle versus $34 - $36 that I've seen (plus tax in Washington, not in Oregon) so you have a considerable price difference particularly if you want to buy the 4 - 6 bottle allotment (though I suppose shipping could bump that if you have to trustee or trade for it).

I suspect the rarer Speedway stuff won't go into distribution. As long as these on line auctions are the only way you can get the BA Speedway and coffee variants, I think their model is safe.

saw ba numbskull and ba grand cru up in Kenosha and at $40.00 a bottle it can sit and collect more dust. ended up getting the last two bottles of big bad Baptist for $25 and was happy as can be.

That's really expensive for Big Bad Baptist. I've never seen it for more than $14-16.

He got 2 of them for $25. At least that's how I'm interpreting his post.

Yes I have seen BA Old Numbskull for 40
dollars in Wisconsin and passed. I like it but don't
like it at that price. There are plenty of good barrel aged barleywines at half the price per ounce.

sorry, should have been more specific about that. I got both bottles for $11.99 each so it was $25.00 out the door for both. I love wisconsins sales tax, so much cheaper than Illinois.
