I cracked open one of these last night. In my opinion, well balanced and incredibly drinkable for 13%, especially as it warms up. Not nearly as as hot as the Wild Turkey version despite the higher ABV. In that respect it shares more in common with the HH version. I suppose that was the majority of the base for this release? I split it three ways, but definitely could have drank an entire can over the course of a night.

I will probably hold on to my other can for a while, but I'm not sure that's necessary. This beer is amazing right now. One of the best BA stouts I have had in a while.

I really enjoyed Hotbox as well. It has the silky smoothness of DbC, but with an great nitro coffee quality to it.

With the comments about some small distribution happening - anyone know when these might be seen outside of Longmont?

Counterpoint, I thought Hotbox was kind of disappointing, given the price esp. Kind of watery and lots of coffee but very little sweetness for balance. I finished my (1/3 of can), but I would struggle to drink a whole can.

Can't wait to try this beer, and I am sending one to my very lucky to know me brother-in-law. I feel like the stovepipe is meant to be shared. With my dad, for example.

I happened by the Weasel this evening and was told there were probably enough cans to last until Friday.

That is great news as I am heading up to get 6 more tomorrow. I'll report back

I grabbed another 6 this morning. Also grabbed some two week old Dales for $7.65 a mixer after tax with the aha discount. Now I am disappointed I didn't grab some regular 10 fidy.

I see what you are saying. It's definitely got minimal body, especially compared to OB stouts. To be fair, I did share Hotbox with my wife, and I drank my ~10 oz fairly quickly. I am also a huge fan of nitro coffee (when I can get it), so any bitterness/imbalance was probably overlooked. No question BA Ten Fidy is the "better" beer.

Any word yet on Distro? Surprised to see this last a week. Wouldn't be surprised to find that this was blended with regular ten fidy

Have you tried it yet? I highly doubt it's blended with non-BA beer.

Just stopped by and 2 different bartenders said 9 six packs left. If true definitely won't last to weekend

I endorse this statement. These cans aren't lacking any barrel presence. I think the cans are just as awesome as any BA Fidy tap with the exception of the version aged in Breck. barrels. Those particular barrels are simply the best vessel for that BAFidy yumyum-ness IMO.

Looks like it got tapped at Freshcraft tonight for those that want to taste it without cracking one of their cans

I think they are limiting the amount of six packs sold daily. Had a friend pick up the "last 2" lastnight around 7.

No but doesn't it seem like a huge number? Didn't know they had this large of a barrel room

Went on a tasty weasel brewery tour about 2 months ago (it had been awhile) and I was shocked to see a new warehouse the size of an airplane hangar connected to the brewery in the back. Apparently OB had just purchased (leased?) the unit next to them. They have plenty of room and the plan is to use some of space to expand their barrel program. At least that's what the taproom gal said.

I picked up a few yesterday and it seems like they had plenty more. Limit is 6/person/day; not sure if that's been mentioned yet.

There is a ton of available space in that area- I know this for a fact. There was a big boom in the 1980s or 1990s and they built up that whole area but it seems that almost half of the space has been vacant for the better part of the last decade.
