Barrel Aged wake and Bake question

    Ola, just picked up a growler of barrel aged wake and bake in Tampa but was unsure of what barrel it might have been aged in. Anyone have any background on what barrel treatment might have made it to Tampa? My friendly, neighborhood beer store clerk said she thought bourbon and possibly woodford reserve barrels. Any help would be appreciated.

    The one I had on draft last week at The Porter was a Four Roses Barrel Aged. I believe 4 months in the barrel.

    I've only had BA WnB once, about three years ago.

    It was aged in Jack Daniels barrels.

    Yes, it was as incredible as you might think and then some.

    Is this the same thing as what they call Substance Abuse or a different beer?

    Substance Abuse was the JD barrel. I'm sure they've used others under a different name.

    Hmm, interesting. Definitely tasted Bourbon-like. It was fantastic and I killed the whole growler without a second thought. This is fantastically drinkable for how flavorful it is.

    Just had a growler of the BA WnB from ABC kennedy... it's solid.
    If anyone goes to growler tuesdays at CCB, i'll be bringing a growler to share at the back bar next week.
