Drinking a New Holland Pilgrim's Dole right now and digging the hell out of it. What other BA wheatwines are there that I should keep an eye out for?

Founders Sweet Repute if you can get your hand on a bottle. I thought it was phenomenal.

Revolution 3rd Year Beer, aged in rum. Shouldn't be too difficult to find someone with one.

Pilgrim's Dole is the only good beer NH makes, but it is very tasty. White Chocolate is awesome when it's not infected. Sweet Repute shouldn't be too hard to come by in trades since many people didn't care for it.

Thats a great beer, didn't get much buzz though, like all Revolution beers. Straight Jacket is one of the best BA BWs I've ever had, and yet, it shelf turds.

Really? And the opinions of many others are just wrong?

No? I was just stating my opinion. I really don't feel it's necessary to clearly label every statement that is an opinion as such, especially when it's something so obviously subjective.

I feel pretty strongly that New Holland is a sub-par brewery, but I really like Pilgrim's Dole; it's the only thing that has ever stood out to me as being something I'd purchase again or even something I remotely enjoyed. At no point did I say that other drinkers couldn't enjoy NH beers, nor did I claim that if they do, they are wrong. No reason to read into it any meaning that isn't there.

There are plenty of beers/breweries that I enjoy that people have knocked constantly on these forums, yet I don't immediately jump on the defensive when it happens.

New Holland brewery makes many great beers other than pilgrims dole. I don't feel the need to elaborate on my opinion

That's because for whatever reason the inconsistent Pipeworks garners all the IL hype (Ninjas are mostly really good, but the stouts are mostly way too sweet). Revolution is great and deserves a lot more hype than they get, and yeah, Straight Jacket is killer.

I thought it was a little hot. Hoping a year or 2 does it some good.

I'm too lazy to check if you get it but I liked smuttynose's wheatwine. It was definitely a mix of a wheatwine and barleywine as advertised.

Not exactly barrel-aged, but Boulevard Harvest Dance is a wheatwine aged on oak spirals. Dry-hopped with Citra. It has a decent wood presence, obviously not much in the way of spirit/wine barrel character. Should be out in the next two months or so, it's typically a fall release.

Oh, and I just had a 2-year aged version and I recommend having it fresh. At least within six months of release. Wasn't bad but didn't improve and was a fair bit more duller.
