Indeed, to each their own. New Holland certainly isn't stellar, but certain beers of theirs "strike a chord" with me, Dragon's Milk being one of them. When I first had it, I was like "Why isn't this fantastic beer more talked about?" I personally think it can hang with the rest of the BBA stouts just fine. The other beers we've talked about I also think are great but, yeah, that's where it ends. IMO the Hatter series is a joke, Night Tripper is an uneven stout, Ichabod is a very average pumpkin beer and El Mole Ocho is just okay. It's true, New Holland could do a lot of things better, but the things they do well they do very well.

Now, as for saying MBC is not that great, ya lost me there.

Griffin Claw Oblivious (Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Wheatwine) is very good. It was a recent brewery only release but you could trade for it if you wanted.

I had sweet repute on tap at a founders tap takeover and i thought it was exceptional. It was hot even on tap, but didnt take away from the wonderful flavors. Id love to get ahold of a bottle to age.....so i suggest if you are able to do that to try that avenue.
