So last night at a local beer bar, they had was was labeled barrel Racer 5. There was no other information about it, but they luckily tapped it anyways. It tasted like a bourbon barrel aged version of Racer 5. There seems to be no information about this beer. It is NOT Barrel Racer 45, which I have had and is a repurposed Racer 5 into a wild ale. This was different.
The verdict was that is was really good, smooth, and has a nice, mild bourbon finish. Problem is, I can't find any information about it. Can anyone chime in.

as stated above, the was NOT Barrel Racer 45

    Thanks!

Ask Bear Republic. They are very good at responding to email, Twitter etc.

I'd like to know more about this, as I really enjoy Racer 5.

Speaking of BR...I'm quite convinced at this point that seeing fresh Hop Rod, or most of the time any BR beer, on any store shelf is about as easy as snagging Cantillon in the U.S.

I've looked at the same bottles of BR for at least 18 months.

They seem to be really lazy at getting their product out, we've had their distro for a while but at most we get Racer 5 about 2-3 times a year, and we're lucky to get anything else.
