I looked and the only thread for these guys was from 2017. Since I decided to join the souls society this year, I'm super excited to see what beer they will be releasing. On that note, experienced members, do they typically release the member bottles towards the end of the month?

Also feel free to use this as a place to discuss beers and the taproom.

Last year was my first year in the society. Didn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason towards when they were released

Was a huge fan of their BBA scotch ale (name escapes me at the moment). I received this in trade (blind) from the great @jhavs , and I only wish that I could find some more.

I've enjoyed every BA brew I have tried of theirs. The taproom always has a ton of options. Hard to try everything you want. Its a nice place to hang out too. Lots of outdoor space. I try to stop by every time I am in the Portland area (15-20 times a year).

I feel like we should rename this "Barreled Souls (2019)" since that seems to be the new standard for the forums. I just have no idea how to request that change.

I joined the society last year and found it to be amazing. They're one of my favorite brewers in New England so the fact that i can pre-order their releases and they'll hold them for me for months is perfect. I'm actually about to head up there tomorrow to pick up all the beers i have waiting for me from the last few releases. I think my only complaint is that the members only party they threw still cost $50.

Agreed - I was a member last year and renewed this year. The cost and travel kept me away from the party - did you go? I was curious how it went and might reconsider for later this year.

I didnt. I found $50 to be too steep a price for a cheese board, desserts and some beer, especially after the membership fee. I'm also not big on driving places just to drink and it would be a 1.5 hour drive.

Well done OP, I think Barreled Souls is one of the most under-rated breweries in the country, and actually hope it stays that way...!!! Like @jhavs, I pass by there and stop in regularly. I've been really impressed with most of what I've had, but haven't yet had a chance to try some of their goses or canned offerings, all in due time - their super cool taproom always has availability of cans, growlers and usually a couple bottles. I've asked before, and there's no rhyme or reason behind releases - the best answer I got last summer when I was eagerly hoping for a PB Stay Puft release while I was still in town was "not yet, it's still too damn hot!" Cheers!

Thanks for the responses. I agree on the name change for the thread but I can't figure out how to change the name of the thread. If someone knows please post.

New to the club this year. Anyone see the nect release? Big bang and rye barrel big bang. Anyone had them before? Trying to decide how many fresh bottles I should grab.

Depends what you mean by fine. I think I was an hour and a half early last year and was 30th in line. But they badly miscalculated allotments and I missed out on all but regular bottles.

I assume they plan for a lengthy line and more accurate allotments this year, so hopefully all variants last at least the day.

Not sure if this helps, but I would guess if you show up right at 11, there will be a significant line.

Your gonna be in a big line IMHO. It really depends if you want any variants. Barreled Souls is starting to show up on people's radars and this is their most popular stout. I plan on going to the Raspberry patch for breakfast at 9:00a.m. and headed to BS after. Eta probably 9:30 - 9:45. You can wait an hour before open and guarantee full allotments, or you can wait an hour in line and risk it. I'm after variants tho.

@dropkick1977 @WTCrane thank you both very much for the info. I would like the variants as well. Will definitely show up early then. Is there any bottle sharing at these releases?

That I don’t know, but I’m going to lean no. Don’t quote me on that.
